275 tires on the front wear problems

Hi...I want to put 275/40-17's at all four corners and want to know if there are any wear issues with that size tire and the front suspension we have on our cars: a modified MacPherson strut system. Corvettes have a double A-Arm setup which helps with the wear patterns. I know the third gen Firehawks had 275's all around, but for all my research, I can't find anyone comment on if the tire wore out due to the edges going bald before the tire itself. In addition, Firehawks were meant to be track cars and not street cars. I'll be using this on the street 100% as opposed to the track (I drive rather spiritedly around Charleston )Anyone with experience with 275 size tires on the front that can answer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Had that size (275/40/17) on my car since 96 or so.

Thanks for the reply...so, you've had no problems with wear being a wider tire? Did you do anything different to your alignment, or keep it at stock specs?

Tire wear is not an issue at 275 width. I have 275/40 Nitto NT05's wrapped on 17x9 ZR1 4th gen rims, no issues with rubbing or handling.

Thank you both...that's what I needed to know. I'll be getting 275's all around!

The alignment is a bit different than stock but these cars had issues when the 16s came out. Took them a few yrs to get the stock specks correct.
