But if you are orderibg everything new, you can do 1/2-20 no problen either

screw in is easier to replace if you break a stud, or even if you need longer/shorter studs later.
The knurl'ed ones you have to press in (or pull in with a stack of washers and nut) and them press out and beat/knock out.
Screw in is just that, screws in and out.
