Wheel Studs
Ok, i went to the track for the first time yesterday. I went to tech and the only thing I didnt pass on was the wheel studs werent long enough and i needed metal valve stems in the front wheels. I guess the studs have to stick past the wheel opening. Does anyone know what size wheel studs i need for the rear? I have superior evolution axles with 2 different holes for studs. i just dont know what knurl and all that means. Also what ones for the front. Im running prostars to. thanks a lot of anyone who can help

How fast are you running?
So, if your wheel studs are the factory 12mm studs, they must extend at least 12mm past the surface of the rim. If you have rims such as Weld Draglite or ProStar with a thick center section, factory wheel studs are way too short.
Metal screw-in valve stems are required on all tubeless tires, front and rear, for all cars running 11.99 or quicker
I run 7/16" x 2-1/2" long wheel studs on the front and 1/2" x 3" long wheel studs on the rear.
The wheel stud must protrude into the hex portion of the nut equal or greater than the diameter of the stud.

i ran 12.17 at 110. I should be able to run 11.7 with some more tuning. Hey HARDTAIL are you using the stock front rotors. If yes what wheel studs did you buy and did you have to drill it at all?

Stock front rotors. I pretty sure I have Moroso studs. They were installed at least 5 years ago. From looking on the Jegs and Summit pages, I'd say my front studs are the 46160. The holes will need to be drilled. The drill bit size should be listed in the instructions.
10 studs are only $20 but you're also going to need new wheel nuts.

i think im going to use ARP-100-7713. They will fit perfect in the front and in the rear im going to open it up a tad. im also going to machine the ends of the lugs off.

Re: Wheel Studs
Yes. I have 1/2" studs on my front wheels and use 5/8" studs on the rear with no modifications to the rims.
