Hi, looking at ridler 675 wheel 17 x 9.5 5.05" Backspace. -5 offset.
Ive given up trying to find wide 15" to match my 15"x8" 675's but can get a 17 x 9.5, ( intending to run 275 40 17 tires ).
I know a 0 offset 17x9.5 works but cant get that so wondering if a -5 will still fit.
+5mm on my car would be a problem hitting the tierod.
-5mm should have no issues other than possible rear guard issues if the differential is not centered.
I was having heaps of trouble getting suitable wheels here in New Zealand as 5 x 4'75 is a fairly rare pattern and isn't well supported by the importers.
I cant use my existing rims (ridler 675) for wide tyres as they will stick out past the guard and will fail inspection.
I'll go ahead and buy them and if I have diff centering issues i'll just get an adjustable panhard bar.
Wow that's really close. So with a -5mm I assume mine will stick out 5mm more than that.
I guess I can hide that with a little negative camber until I get my brake upgrade, or alternatively keep my 15's at the front until front brakes are sorted. The 17's and 15's will have the same diameter so should work ok
I measured the clearance with a level.
2mm F and 8mm R to the fattest portion of the sidewall. 277mm wide tires.
The tires do not rub anywhere except full lock on the frame/swaybar.
Go Shane Van Gisbergen!
Nice. I just ordered my matte black 695's from http://4wheelonline.com/Ridler_Wheels.169954. I also like old school style rims so I decided to get the Ridler's and their price really fits my budget.

They are definitely a good deal and a great looking wheel.
I went with polished but unfortunately due to NZ laws regarding tires outside of guards I can't use 9.5" wide at the front. Going to have to go with 8"
