Maximum 17" tire and wheel size on 3rd gen
I'm sure this has been answered before, but for the life of me, I can't find it here, What is the maximum wheel widths and tire sizes for putting 17" wheel on a 3rd gen with no modifications to the car?

It hasn't changed, it's still 275/40R17x9.5 front and 315/35R17x11 rear, do some reading to find the backspacing / offset / spacers for whatever big brake upgrade you choose. Choose the brakes first. 13s are an easy fit in most 17s

Re: Maximum 17" tire and wheel size on 3rd gen
As cosmick said, 9.5" up front and 11" out back.
But there are no direct fit 11" wheels that will fit the 3rd gens without spacers - other than custom 3pc wheels.
In terms of brakes, most any 17" wheel will fit a 13" kit - even some 16" wheels will. However, different wheels can fit different brake kits - for example, the Hawks 17" GTA wheel will fit up to a 13" kit, the CTW Motorsports wheel will fit any 14" kit - both are 17" wheels.
There is also weight, brake cooling, and visual design aspects to ponder.
The selection is better than a few years ago, but not what anyone would refer to as "robust".
