Long title but gets it all, this 82 Z28 was a relatives years ago and was made into an automatic. I was told it originally didn't have overdrive but the gear shift now says otherwise.

Would snow tires be enough to cruise in N.E. America winters?

A F body isn't going to react to snow tires any differently than any other RWD car.

Nobody can tell you what transmission you have from that post. Have you driven the car? If it shifts 4 times it has OD.
