Re: Blowout

Holy cow!!! Thats pretty raw. And the tire really doesn't look bad otherwise, there's lots of tread. Crazy it blew out. Lucky it was at home.

Re: Blowout

My wife came in this morning and said, "You had a blowout." I looked at the tire with amazement.

Re: Blowout

There looks to be a lot of cracking in the rubber all around the tread. How old are the tires?

Re: Blowout

If the other 3 tires look as dry rotted as that one, I would replace all 4 asap!

Re: Blowout

Let me guess, its an original "Gatorback"
Just kidding....

I agree.
The amount of tread left on a tire is irrelevant when they get old.

A tires rubber and components break down just sitting on a shelf.

There are even regulations set for shelf life on tires. After they hit a certain age they cant sell them.

Any way Im glad to hear it did not happen on the Freeway with family in the car.
There would be nothing left but a bent wheel and tire pieces of tire stuck in someone else's car.
