My 88 GTA wheels have peeling clear coat. I'm wondering if anyone has ever stripped the gold or black off their wheels before? I think a set of fully polished wheels instead of gold ones would look really good.

Yes I have. It was a lot of work. If I was to do it again, I would remove the clear coat and glass bead the centers. Polish the lip then clear coat.
