Fitment Help 4th Gen Rear Big Brake Upgrade
Fitment Help 4th Gen Rear Big Brake Upgrade
I am looking for fitment help for my third gen with 4th gen rear end swap. I am seeing a ton of different info on backspacing/offset that has left me confused. I have swapped to a 4th gen rear and upgraded to 6th Gen Camaro SS rear brakes and am looking to run 18's or 19's in the rear. I have also upgraded to 6th Gen Camaro SS fronts and am looking to run 18s in the front.
Can anyone help with wheel sizing, backspacing, offset etc.?

Off the top of my head, without looking, I'd guess you're looking at needing a +50mm offset wheel, which is about 2 inches. Since you're running a 4th gen rear, just look up 4th gen rear wheel specs and apply that to whatever wheel you end up getting. I can't speak to how the 6th gen brakes affect the fitment, but I'd imagine as long as your diameter clears (which I'd imagine an 18 or 19 would) you should be ok.
Bottom line is the 4th gen rear sticks out farther than the thirdgen by about 2 inches each side. So you need a wheel that's offset about +2" inches on each side.

If you already have the 4th gen rear, then no. Spacers (actually adapters for anything over about .25") would be needed if you had a thirdgen rear but 4th gen wheels. With 4th gen rear and 4th gen wheels, you fitment should be fine. Now of course that being said, ANY rear and wheel combo not intended for our cars may or may not need some fine tuning, if even just for your own appearance preference.
