Weld S104 18X10 6.7 BS, how much 'love' required
Hey All,
Does anyone on the board have experience 18x10 with 6.7 BS that they are running? I like the Weld S104/Ventura rims and would like to know how much 'love' it will take to run these square. I want to use them with R888R, 295/30R18 tires. I know I will need some decent thick front spacers, but am unsure about how much work for the back they would require beyond rolling the fenders and swinging the BFH. Its for my 91 Z28 which is lowered about 1 all around. Decent 18X10 rims for our 3rd gens are hard to find with BS what works well.

I ran 6.813" of BS in the rear with a. 18x10.5. I used a 10mm spacer and some light hammering of the front lower wheel well, nothing major. Axle must he centered, might hang up the wheel on the bump stop section at full droop is you are still using a panhard bar.
Front will need to be tuned with spacers or customer hubs, kore3 made mine, 1le spec offset plus .25" IIRC was a perfect fit. Steering stops need to be adjusted to prevent rubbing. Add camber as needed.

Running 10" wide up front is going to be really hard. I know others have done it, but I still don't understand how. I am lowered and have rubbing issues with 19X9 up front with a 265 tire. I could get a little space back if I lifted the nose a touch with my weight jacks but but its still a mystery how folks do it and operate normally. Your car will track like a slot car which can make driving challenging on worn roads. I realize a square set-up is preferred but unless you are a hardcore skilled racer these cars do just fine with a staggered set-up. Food for thought.

A skilled racer I am not, lol. Interesting about the slot car problem. My wifes Mustang GT does this and it make driving the car unfun (that and its a Mustang). I want to go square to be able to rotate the tires and a side benefit of having potentially better handling, but it seems the handling part is debatable.

I too am no racer but I will push my cars and am am comfortable with my non square setup now. However, the front end of my car is roughly 130 + lbs lighter than stock which also helps. If you still have an all iron 305/350 and stock k-member you may be more prone to push/understeer with a narrower front. Being at 3k lbs, my car has tracked hard enough on some roads that I thought I had a loose wheel. At the end of the day if you need more grip, go with a softer compound tire. That makes up for width in many cases.
