For Sale: set of Gatorbacks that are new car takeoffs purchased from SLP in the early 90s and stored in a climate controlled basement since. They were mounted shortly after purchase on a set of NOS charcoal cross lace wheels (10132812, front and 10132813, rear). Includes center caps.

They were used for three autocross runs that scrubbed the new tire paint stripes from the tread. The paint stripes are still intact below the tread (see photos). They have no street miles. Climate controlled storage has prevented environmental degradation.

They have obviously timed out for safe usage. They are visually in excellent shape and would be nice to have for show purposes.

I bought these when I had aspirations to turn my 92 B4C into a copy of the 92 Z commemorative edition that got cancelled. It turned up in so many magazines it inspired me to collect parts to do so. I bought these tires because they were the ones on that car. It makes me wonder where SLP got new car takeoffs from that they sold?

 

From the 93 and up cars they were turning into firehawks, i bought maaany sets of those GSCs.

 

That makes sense and fits into the time frame I purchased them in. The fact that they were also used on the 92 Z commemorative edition makes sense since they claimed it was a precursor of 4th gen capability. I remember seeing a lot of 3rd gens sporting these tires. Must have been replacements?

With fourth gen tires mounted on third gen wheels, I wonder if I can get the price I would hope to get?

 

SLP's new take off Goodyear Eagle GS-C tires were a popular replacement tire for 3rd gens.

I'm sure @TTOP350 up there in Illinois was putting them on a 1989 T-top Formula 350 and burning them off and down here in Frankvegas, KY they were being put on a 1989 T-top Formula 350 and 1989 TTA and being burned off too. Very well might have been smoke shows going on at the same time, in the same type car in different states. LOL

 

I got lots of take off Camaro parts from Zeke's (SLP) back in the day that made their way onto my '97 RS.
Zexel diff, 2 exhausts, 2 sets if shocks and struts...

I've since upgraded the shocks to KYB AGX, but the diff and the second exhaust (from a 2000 SS) which hung in my garage as wall art and installed in 2018 are still on the car today. Great prices!
