LT1 swap done, wont start...HELP!!!

i put a 95 LT1 in my 92 'maro.
its all hooked up and wont start.
it has injector pulse.
i am wondering what part of the car the vats disables. does it kill everything or just spark? if my bypass is not hooked up corectly will i still get injector pulse?
there is no diag. plug in the harness. is there a way to test that distributor to make sure is is working?
does anyone know what the 3 prong plug next to the coil is for? that is the only one i cant figure out.
PLEASE HELP ME!

By no start do you mean it cranks but doesn't start? Is your fuel pump engaging?

Go step by step...like cd90rs said....do you have fuel? When you turn the key to run but not start, do you hear the pump? Another way to see if you have fuel coming to the engine is to remove the cap on the fuel rail and take a rag and screwdriver to it. Give it a slight push using the rag to soak any fuel up. Unless you have a fuel pressure gauge which of course would be a better way to go. As far as testing the opti...I have no idea about this. Another thing to check is that you do have power at the coil.

The pink wire at the coil should have 12 volts when the key is in the start and on positions.

yes, there is fuel. i can hear the pump. there also is the right voltage at the coil.

what all does the vats disengage? i hooked up the bypass the way it said, but i may have been wrong. if the vats only kills spark that may be it, but i just dont know.
it cranks but no start.

It's been a while since I went through this myself but if I remember correctly the VATS does kill the injectors. It seems like they will pulse for a second or two then shut off if VATS is incorrect. Do you hear the fuel pump only when you first turn the key forward? Make sure it is running when you try to start. Does it attempt to start at all, spudder etc?

Have you pulled a spark plug to check for spark?
That fuel check by trans am #5 is the best one, just push in the pressure relief valve on the back of the fuel rail.

You can get your diagnostic line straight from the PCM, it is usually the Blue 30 wire coming off the PCM. It is usually a tan wire, according to www.akmcables.com. They have more info there for hooking up the serial data link.

Mine wouldn't start the first time when I didn't have the MAF hooked up believe it or not. Double check all your connections for the heck of it. Keep us updated.

I think the orginal VATS cut power to the fuel pump. I think the updated VATS cuts power to the fuel pump and ignition.
