Hey, it was recently announced that the up and coming Gran Turismo 4 will have a third gen in it!!! But it says it's the Iroc-Z Concept. Now is this something real and you guys know about? Is it a "concept" paint package? Or is it that one that spawned the 91 gfx off of it or what? Any pics?

And finally, we get a third gen in a game, and not only any game, but GRAN TURISMO!!! The game of all racing games. Wow. Not to mention a '70 chevelle

 

I can't wait for that to come out. It's about time they put a third-gen in a game. As far as video games are concerned it's like they never existed.

Someone posted a pic from I think it was one of the Need For Speed games that had a 3rdgen B4C in it! Looked pretty f@ckin' cool!

 

Yeah you can download a Iroc in Need For Speed on the computer. Ill try to post some pics up. Also i can wait for Gran Turismo, I love to see another 3rd gen in a video game..

Any pictures of the Concept Iroc?

The only concept pictures I have from around that time are of this Blue thirdgen. But its made to look up like a 4th gen.

yeah I know they had it in NFS, but in all honesty, not the best game hehe. But GT4 on the other hand..... THE game. For those of you not familiar with games, the GT series of games has zero competition as far as other racing game sims.

But it says it's the concept.... so we'll see.

dont own them but have rented them on numerous occasions

 

When I heard that GT4 was gonna have over 500 cars, I was hoping one would be a 3rdgen! In GT3 my favorite car was the 4thgen SS. I had much faster cars, but I always raced the SS.

 

The only IROC concept I can think of is that yellow Camaro GTZ that GM did. It was *** ugly and had a 4.3L V6.

Hmm....There is also a 1989 Camaro concept car. But it has more to do with a 4th gen than a third.

I've been searching for a 1988 concept and links are either dead, or just mention Camaro, but have no relevant information.

Found another pic of that blue camaro. Its not a concept, but rather a body kit that looks remarkably 4thgen like.

I think there talking about that orange concept that was the basis for the 91-92 Z it had clear headlight covers and the wing was grafted into the back so it looked like a f40 also had some crazy *** power seats.. I was trying to find pics but I had no luck

I bet u money the IROC concept in GT4 will be **** slow seeing as how 3rd gens are the slowest in the generations aside from the crossfire....uuuuggggh crossfire "A.K.A. cease fire injection."

 

umm what about the 2nd gens from 1974-1981? Those were **** slow. A 305 TPI would spank any of them

 

yeah...the late (75-81) 2nd gen were slow as hell...not the early ones though...those are the best f-bods ever made....


anyway i hope that the concept car looks like a thirdgen and not a 3rd gen from space.....

Hopefully it's like a concept paint package or something really minor so it still looks stock basically.

But, it may be this one here , and honestly, it's still looks pretty close to a 91z which is good enough at least

And don't forget you can mod the cars with blowers and whatnot in the game, so I bet it will be slow, but I bet you can mod it to speed. And to the above poster, I'd always use the 02 SS or the C5R in the game too

 

hey i really hope it is that one, hopefully the car would be locked and you would have to race a certain class to unlock it , those are usually the ridiculously fast ones

 

Yep thats the one I was talking about!! I dont now why they would use one of the other concepts that didnt even resemble an Iroc let alone a camaro..

Whoah!! A '69 wasn't on the confirmed car list! Sweet!!!

And I was going to look through all the pics of IGN, Gamespot, gtplanet, etc. But after about 5 minutes with my 56k I couldn't handle 10 minutes to load each page of thumbnails. If you find any 3rd gen pics hit us up!!!!

 

i think the closest to a thirdgen in a real video game would be that f-body like car in Vice city, thats kinda like a cross between a second gen and a thirdgen. i love the throttle plates that open when you rev!

 

Now I get new games to buy, GT4 and GTA San Andreas, Something sounds fun about stealing lowrider bicycles and tractors and all the new stuff in that too!

 

Looks like a good game.. I looked through all 140 pages of photos and didnt find the IROC tho.. so I wouldnt bother. Its probably one of the specialty cars that you win.. so they wouldnt post pics of it.

is the link for the ign car list. as it says it's not complete, but it does have the iroc there. And IGN is nearly hands-down the most reliable gaming site on the web.
But yeah, that list that was posted in the link above didn't have any third gen love.... hmmmm...
