Stock Tbi Times

Does anyone know what the stock times are on a 305 TBi with a 5-speed, 1991 (170 hp)?

The only "speed" inhansments I've done so far is K&N filter and changed to 3.23 gears from 3.08.

Sorry, I dont go racing at the track like most people.

Thanks JAWZ

There is an article on here somewhere that tested a 5-speed 305 and it ran 16.1. Automatics run stock around 16.4-16.6.

After your open element/gear change you can expect ~2 tenths faster than stock. All your mods have a combined effect, so it requires better breathing in and out of the engine before you start to see e.t.'s drop.

If you don't go to the track but still want a rough estimate of how fast your car is running you can mimic mods made by guys that do run regularly at their local tracks. Just check out their signatures...there is enough of us running in the 14's to give you plenty of ideas of what it would take.

Hope this helps

Gotta remember those automatics did those 16 times with 2.73's as well. So an auto tranny isn't all as bad as people think. I don't have the sheet anymore but back on a 2.73 combo with stock everything I had a 16.3 run. Note this was almost 7 years ago, 15x7, and BONE stock with a/c and the spare in the back.

Then the car went strictly daily driver and it wasn't till two years ago that my blueprinting on it started I'm not sure what she'll run, but she has a 1LE driveshaft coming for even more power being freed, key word freed. These engines are so restricted... it like telling a person he can do whatever speed on this road only to have gridlock traffic on it...
