4th Gen Exhaust in 3rd Gen

I've now read the last few years of topics on people wanting to put a 4th gen exhaust in a third gen. Seems the going opinion is to put a flowmaster/SLP/Borla/whatever on instead. My problem is I have two 4th gen cat backs. One off my old (traded in for my vette) 98 TA WS6 and one off a 99 Camaro SS. They are both in good shape and would like to use one of them and save the $200-$300. Will also install the SLP headers I've had laying around for a year. Where can I find info on the mods to the cat back (brackets, hangers and 45 degree elbow) needed to adapt it to my 92 RS? Any help is appreciated.

i really couldn't find any hangers for my cat back (after I had to cut one off) I tried welding up my own, but now I'm just gonna go to the shop and have them do it

I would like to find this one out too....(4th gen exhaust in a 3rd gen). I believe it would work and there isnt any real weird hangers etc, but if you do find out I would certainly be intersted.

The 4th gen rear section over the axle is the same the difference is from the manifolds to the axle. The 4th gen center section is a different angle before the cat I think it may bee too close to the passenger side floor board (hump) to work on a 3rdgen but its worth a try if you have all the componets.

From the muffler back definitely works... here's mine with the muffler and tails from a 2000 WS6...

borgx....what did you use for the pipe between the cat and the muffler then, the stock piping?

By any chance is yours one of those "takeoff one's" I have seen for sale????

I already had the pipe from the cat to the rear... you could use stock, or in my case, I had a cat-back already on there that was WAY too loud! I know many people like them loud, but me and my neighbors were starting to fued... so I installed this muffler and install a cut-out at the same time so I can get LOUD when I want to... hehe

The only difference I ran into was the way the muffler connected the tailpipe to the driver side. 4th Gens have an "L" shaped hanger and 3rd Gens have a hanger that connects via a bolt. We cut the one off the original tail and used it on the new setup... easy fix...

Of... forgot... I had a friend give me this setup off his car when he installed a Corsa cat-back... this one is the same as the take offs though...
