Aftermarket body kits for thirdgen F-birds??
Aftermarket body kits for thirdgen F-birds??
I'm having some trouble locating any aftermarket ground effects or body kits for the third gen Firebirds. Anybody know a website where I can find some?? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Kobel makes a set called Predator. I have it, so do at least two other people here. Most of the guys here hate it (hell, i do too, bwahahahaha).
I only have the side skirts and front pieces on mine in these pictures, i took the a<x>ss end of it off.

You can get it in the Classic Industries catalog.

I think any GFX kits that are not from the factory for almost any car I have ever seen look like crap. I love the stock GFX but I can't handle the aftermarket stuff. Just my opinion. But don't let anyone tell you what to do with your car. After all you bought and paid for it right?

JC Whitney still carries the firebird ones. I got mine from them about 8 years ago. Here is the link...

I am in Lowell, MA right now and just got two pictures of the "Carrab" kit as I was walking back from class. When I get home from work I will post them in this thread.
speedingpenguin, I am in Lowell for school, but live in Chelmsford, PM me with more info on where you have seen this car.

Wow that was a quick reply, but yeah, the front looked kinda gross, the sides weren't my style, and the back was the only thing that had much merit. I am sure back in the day it was impressive because it was different, but now it just looks dated.

you mean to tell me that....
http://www.k1-styling.sk/evo2/exterior/01.jpg <<<this is a camaro or a firebird...?
If so.. damn.. a bit too importlookish... but, i love the rear. & the massive opening in the front could be kinda useful...

i like it, and yet i don't like it.
If that is a third gen, looks completely different, though you can kinda tell, cuz of how long it is. And just the shape of the car.
Cool points are that it's got the kickbutt doors, the headlights are sleek & sexy, ferri like even, same with the hood, and the rear end looks good.
BUt.. a third gen is a third gen.... not an exotic.
I wouldn't mind doing a few of these modifications, but i never will, A. price, B. just... no....
very mixed on this, lol.

But... ya..
Hey, people, with the predator body kit.. Can you use the Vision front bumper? or do you have to have that one w/ the two black peices....???

This topic is getting out of the line.
The initial topic was questions about the kobel ground effects, and now you guys en up talking about fast-ans-the-furious-asian-camaro????
OK, The kobel ground effects used to be sold by classicindustries for $600 the whole kit (front spoiler, rear spoiler, and side skirts), But they don't sell it anymore
Now, JCWhitney sells them for $549.95,
the part number is 94ZX7502NF, and they say it won't fit trans am models. I'm not sure about this, because I have in my hands the catalog from classicindustries and it says that it fits every model, included trans am. If you have a trans am, you might have to remove you existing side skirt to put the new one in place,
Anyways, does anyone know if it will fit the trans am front spoiler without cutting it??

F-BODY LIMOUSINE!!!!!????
Alright, I thought I had seen it all with that ***** wide mouth camaro, but this is way far more out of the real world.
I have in my hands a magazine called dupont registry, and inside, theeīs an add selling a Ferrari Testarrosa limousine for $100,000, so far might be understandable. But what is really (I donīt know how to call it) is that is not a real ferrari but a body kit on a 89 trans am gta base. Now, who would spend such amount of money destroying a superb white 89 GTA to make it look like a Ferrari? Ok, maybe someone out there, but to make it a limousine!!!!???
I wonder how long the axle is, and the exhaust?? thatīs a lot of tube for an F-body.
Anyways, I donīt know if the car was sold or what but poor owner. Imagine driving around with a limousine 89 gta built to look like a testarrosa.
And the best part of all: It had T-tops and they kept them after the conversion, if the trans amīs chassis is already kindda weak with t-tops, imagine a limousine-size chassis with T-tops
