Heat/AC help, keep blowing fuses :(
Heat/AC help, keep blowing fuses :(
Ok, here's the story. When I got the car, the heat and air wouldn't do anything. The only thing I had was the forced air from driving. I checked the fuse and got it to work after messing with the relay (? box that plugs into the wiring beside the fan motor.) When I turned it off and then on again though, it blew the fuse. I've since switched out the entire heat/ac control assembly, same thing. I've changed the relay as well, same thing. I keep blowing fuses and would love to have some air and defrost in the winter, so if anyone can offer any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Welcome to the boards Maul
Have you taken the blower motor out to see how freely it moves? It might be binding (or just old & crappy) causing the fuse to blow.
Another possibility could be the resistor having gone bad (plugs to the black plastic HVAC housing, close to the motor). Or. just a short somewhere in the wiring.
Here's a diagram to help your hunt.
