actual corvette taillights not z28/vette rear???
I notice on all of the conversions that theres the normal z28/etc hump. Im wondering if theres a kit that can convert the entire rear end of a vette onto a firebird. You know how vettes rear end is flat slope without a hump. Also I dont think camaros look right with them cause vettes had hideaway lights just like the birds. If I was keeping my bird I might think about trying to convert it over.

I had thoughts kind of like this last year. But I was thinking of a 91-92 TA with a shaved rear bumper, roll pan style. Look really good. Somebody did a p-chop of a red one (side shot) with some gunmetal ZO6 wheels and it looked DAMN good.

It is a neat mod. I use to admire a nice 2nd gen that had it done. It sat on top of some old truck trailer at the junk yard. As it was stuck up so high n out of the way , I never bothered to ask how much.

That would have to be a very custom job. The first problem I see is that you'd have to get rid of the honey comb part of the bumpers and posibly cut up the metal rear bumper. And yes, in the second picture the front bumper was shortened. For that to work it would require even more work then the rear. You'd have to have custom fenders, bumper cover, hood and you'd have to chop up the radiator support/frame rails and relocate some things such as the battery and evap canister. If i ever saw that actually done, who ever did it would be my idol.

The rear would be easy. Just replace the honeycomb and stock metal bumper with a larger piece of steel formed and drille for the stock frame rails and just bend some sheetmetal over top of it.
The front wouldn't be as hard as you described either but it would take some massive work. I doubt the rad support would need to be modified much. The fenders cut down and hood bent down farther at the front. Basically you'd use that little tool bench right in front of the hood latch. Custom bumper and headlights. Would be really easy to do fixed head light projector conversion at the same time.
I want to do that roll pan idea to my 91 vert. ever since that p'chop thread last year.

The rear i bet is just as you described it, but in those edits the front looks to be about a foot shorter then stock. I don't think there is that much room behind the firebird front bumper covers to chop it a foot and have room to have the bumper cover and a sort of bumper behind that.

The front end seems to only be 7-9" shorter, the front sidemarker wouldn't even be affected much (although it was shaved in that chop) I'm not denying it's a hard job and lot of work but I think you'd just need a fab'd bumper, headlights, fenders, bumper support bar, hood and then little stuff like signals and stuff.

I would admire the effort, but that does NOT look good. It completely unbalances the car. On top of that, it's an F-body, not a vette. Bolt on similarities and light kits are one thing, but complete body remolding? Come on, that's too far. For an all out 100% show car I'd say OK, but anything else is ridiculous.
