First pics of the car!! New paint and interior.
I finally got some pics to post :lala:. This was a bone stock daily driver with 140K miles on the original drivetrain until 4 years ago, when I rolled it into the garage and took the plates off. I almost sold it last winter to a guy that works for my mechanic and has been bugging me for years, but he only offered 2,500. I would have taken 3,000. Then spring rolled around, and I hooked up with a guy who owns a bodyshop and does custom paint on bikes. He said he'd strip it to metal and paint it for 3,500...which grew to 5 when I added the hood, a new fender and door skin, the flames, and we painted the wheels. Of course, then that 305 was looking kinda weak, so we yanked that and built up a 350...which of course meant a new tranny...and the seats were pretty raggy, so they had to be replaced...with power, cause my honey can't see over the scoop...and the arm rests and sun visors, too...and if you have the seats out, might as well do the carpet...and if you're gonna have that out anyway, there's no better time to weld in sub-frames...and the cassette was busted for years, and there was this factory CD on e-bay...and, well, ya'all know how it goes

Pretty ghost flames!
Now all you need are some cool wheels. Lets see the interior!

Car: 1992 Camaro Z28 Anniversary Edition

things to do:
add a z28 grille, perhaps with foglights
get headlight pockets painted black
replace RS taillights with the Z28 style newer taillights without solid line
if it was my car i'd put on 91-92 gfx.
and obviously get new rims
then you're set.

Thanx for the compliments. Yeah, wheels are on the short list of things to do...I'm leaning towards the Firehawk 17". I may drop it an inch too...not sure though. But that'll have to wait...I'm 12 grand into this in the past year, and I already got the word "No more for now!". It was the guy who painted it who suggested re-spraying the wheels..in fact, he flat out told me "I absolutely refuse to paint those wheels the body color". I never thought it looked so bad, until we did this..now I like it a lot better. And the rubber only has 5K miles on it, so that's gonna wait. As to easySpeed's suggestions... I actually passed on all of them. I like the body color headlight pockets better, and as for the Z's grill or later year ground effect...I kinda have this schizophrenic "stock/custom" thing going on. One side says keep it original, the other says blow it out and show it. So some things I kept stock..and others I obviously didn't. Wait'll you see the graphic we've got planned for under the hood...

Sawweeet ride man! I definitely like the flames! I drop would really set that car off - with or without the new wheels. I would suggest to go for the drop first then get the new wheels when you can. I know what you mean when you just gotta stop for a while.....that's about where I am.
I found a guy that does good paint work but lives in the middle of nowhere and does it cheap. My "cheap" paint job has started to get expensive while I am starting to replace more and more parts!
Watch out guys! My car is going in the paint booth in the next couple of weeks. I hope to post pics of my "new and improved" ride in the next couple of months!
Great work in the 'vert!

That car looks really sweet. I know what you're saying about the wife putting an end to the spending, but I have the solution. Sell all your extra crap (car parts or otherwise) on eBay and keep all your profits in a PayPal account. Then buy the stuff you need on eBay and pay for it out of the account. Make sure you send the new parts to your work address. Works for me!
darbleinad: thanks for a good laugh. I snorted Pepsi out of my nose. It kinda burns now.
