Thanks Jeff.

You got a pretty nice site. BTW, did you put them yourself, did you have to use shorter shocks/struts etc.

How is the ride.

THANKS>

I tryed to put them in myself,,,but i couldt get the front balljoints loose w/o air and i didnt have a large maul to hit the ball jiont fork i borrowed. And without a lift its hard to get a good and "SAFE" position under the rear to crack my rusty shock bolts. Last thing I wanted is to pull the car off the jackstands I had. So I paid a guy to do them for me. I still have my old shocks in there,,,but sence I also cut additional 1/2 of a coil off the front DZ springs,,,and I had a leeky front shock (that I noticed while changing the springs) so wile driving i also noticed i need front shocks for sure. But you should be fine if your front shocks are good now,,,,but if you got the $ for shocks its just as easyer and maybe cheaper to get them installed all at the same time as your springs,,,,And if your changeing your f.shocks then you wont have to crack off your balljoint youll just need a large socket. Unless you got an iroc spring you "may" beable to remove your springs without a spring compressor,,,but its recommended that you use one anyhow (the kind that goes up thu the middle of the spring).

You dont kned shorter shocks. The ride is very nice better then stock!!!!! Not really that rough at all (its just like stock but firmer),,,cause these cars are ride rough anyhow! Ill have a better fell tho after I change my front shocks after I get some more $....and get it back on the road in the a month or more from now. I have had it out for a bit once or twice on clear roads.

Dont be scared away from these springs cause they are cheap. I like mine alot and Im not going to be realy racing my car so I think for me the 3 times more expencive eibachs are not something I need to spend that much $ on,,,and Im glad I got the DZ over the more expensive ones. They are a nice spring and I heard one person saying they may sag over time,,,but nobody can prove this,,,they are just saying that without any real knowledge. I myself cant see them saging,,,and its not like Im gonna have my car for the rest of my live anyhow.

Another guy here I know has them is Wishmaker,,,and I think another guy too but i forget his name.

oh ya at first I had binding going on the firsttime I had them installed. When you let them down of the lift for the 1st time I had some spring binding on the metal frame that the spring goes up into (it was hitting one of the coils in the middle) and it was keeping the front up too high. Its important you get them seated right. If you doing them yourself search for some good tech articals there lots out there.

If you look at that pic above in the snow,,,you can see the front sits a tid bit lower then the back,,,this is cause i cut a 1/2 of coil. I bet if i didnt cut it they would sit level. I would say to someone DONT CUT ANYMORE THEN 1/2 COIL from the Dropzone springs. even with 1/2 off the front ones, I still have no rubing at all and no botoming out at all on average to bad roads. If I bottom out I bet I would of bottomed out on a stock ride hieght.

Oh ya and if your wondering the sig. pic Im using right now is "before" i put the DZ springs in (dont forget I can change my sig anytime if anyone reads this as an old post),,,,,I only have a few after pic right now as I've only had them on for a month now.

Exactly how much are these things and where do you get them? I missed the Jamex $99 deals, and I still need a set. I refuse to pay $200 for a set for others...

Some of the Dropzone spring that they are selling on e-bay are in kingsport TN. there # is 423-288-7694
When I noticed on the E-bay auctions that he is like 5 miles away from my house I called them asked them what they would charge and they said $89.00 a set befor shipping, ( this is where I was going to save a little more $ ) and thats what they start at on e-bay so you could get them directlly from that place or off E-bay for around $100.00 total I'm guessing.
here are a few.. ON E-BAY NOW

I decided to get the sport lines though.

Thanks Jeff for all the comment and i apprecite your honesty. Like you i dont want to spend $300 on springs. I don't really care about the ride quality much because i want the lower stance.

Last year I have clipped the rear springs with a couple clamps from Canadian Tire and if you want to know about rough ride than there is nothing worse than that mod.

Right now i have taken those clamps off and threw them into the garbage. Talking about being cheap.

Anyways thanks again and take care.

Dan

I too have seen these springs on ebay and I'm tempted to buy a set. I was thinking of just getting a front set from Jc Whitney for 79.95( i forget what company they are). JC: I think your car sits awsome, aggressive looking stance! I guess i'm just scared to spend the $$ on these cuz there so cheap i'm afraid i'll have problems. How much did you pay to have someone install? My one buddy told me $75 for install. Did you get your front end aligned then afterwards?

I guess I would be looking at about :

springs = $125 *est
labor = $75
front end alignement = $25 *est

so around 225!!!

I think i'm going to wait a lil more and think about it!

No prob man! Dont worry man your ride quality will be very good with dropzone springs, way better then your compressors,,,Ive done that on a SE grand am I had,,,i bet Im cheaper!!!!,,,,I used "c" clamps, not even the proper coil spring compressors hahahah.

LPE383:
Dont worry you wont have any problems!!! The ones you are looking at from JCW are called "Suspension Technices". They are still good springs too,,,,,Who says a spring has to be crazy expencive before you can use it. All I know is that they are better then stock springs so why not put them on. I have talked to people with both DZ and ST springs and they all had no problems with them at all.
I paid 80 bucks to get mine put in. And yes I need to do an alimnent as soon as I get the car on the road. So all together in Can. funds to buy them + shipping + installalation + alimnent all was under $300.

Yeah I got em and like them and just like the other that have gotten them after me, I think I was the ginny pig out of the bunch as I think I was the first to post that I had them and then everyone else followed suit...but I figured why spend 2 to 3 hundred dollars for springs manly just cause of the name. yes I know the other might be a little better but not by far and how in the heck would anyone of us really know unless that person went out and spent the money to get a set of all the springs out there on the market and install and test them out. Most of us just go by the references for that paticular piece or part. I really dont know.

But I do like mine and can tell a difference from the stock springs and I damn sure dont think they are any worse. So for the $100 bucks I spent on them I think I did some good to the car.
I installed them myself and then you better get an alignment cause you front will be WAY OFF camber.....I found that out when I took it in for the alignment....I go to Firestone, I paid $100 for lifetime alignment about 2 years ago and I think THAT was the best 100 bucks spent cause I can go every week if I needed to.

I didnt cut them like JC did so I would atleast try them with out cutting and then if they are not low enough then cut cut cut away...Im not cause Im sure they will settle some, I got an instant 3/4 drop all the way around when I installed mine and if I get atleast another 1/2 all the way I will be satisfied with them, im satisfied with em now dont get me wrong.

Get em man, you'll like em......all of us that have like em and we would steer you wrong.

any question ask away JC and I will be glad to answer em...

see ya guys

Oh yeah the picture was taken last week I still have not driven the car that much so im sure when I drive it like everyday for a month or so I will get the drop I want.

JC, excellent site man!!!!....

I agree with everything "Wishmaster" said!!! sorry dude for messin up the name

Thanks for the comments Wishmaster!!

Remeber how you were saying your fronts seem to drop a bit sence you put them in,,,,like with in that 1st month you had yours on. Its been more a month and I drove her quite a few times fer not really having it back out on the road. And I remeasured it the other day and its the same as the day I took my 1st measuments,,,so mine didnt drop any after I got them put on. I was out puting them to the test one day real hard and I was at crazy speeds and hitting dipps in the road,,and I realized I need front shocks but I have no rubing or bottoming out at all. Even at very hard cornering going about 30mph I have zero body roll and my tires are screachin but still have crazy amount of grip,,,shes planted to the ground,,,my STB also adds too! I was very impressed with my set up. Did you try puting your car thru the ringer???

Ok, so if i get these springs (either the DZ or the ST) will I have to change the shocks, struts, etc? I changed mine when i first got the car back in 95. I just don't want to spend the money on the springs and have trouble with other things.

My shocks and struts are 2 year old KYB's but I wouldnt think you would need to change yours. Do they feel like they are worn out? My stock shock and struts were not wore out I just changed them for the hell of it... What kind do you have?

I think I got just cheap ones. Gabriel I'm thinkin for some reason. I don't have the $$ to spend on the other things that's why i'm wondering. If i can just do the springs and nothing else It would be good. How much total is this again. Front and back with the DZ???

dont feel you need to get new or speacal shocks....you dont as long as your are good theres no need to change em.....because the DZ springs are made to have the same spring rate as the stock ones,,,your shocks should perform the same as they do now (as long as you dont cut the springs).
