Edelbrock Multiport conversion kit worth it?
Is the Edelbrock conversion kit worth it to change from tbi to mulitport? They say it makes 25hp and 32tq but I know it will not make that much increase in our cars but it cost a lot of money. I don’t really hate my tbi I actually like it I was just wondering

I actually looked into doing the same thing before I decided that it was more cost effective to upgrade the current TBI system. You have to change to a truck ECM, which may or may not be compatible with your current wiring harness. Much of the horsepower gains with the multiport over TBI are from the intake manifold. Replace your stock TBI intake manifold, and the hp gains the multiport system would net you would be quite nominal, and not very hp per dollar cost effective. Dump the 1000 bucks into your TBI. You'll have a better performing system that you'll be happier with.

Classic Edelbrock crap. Not a bad idea, but who wants to spend $thousands$ for 25hp?
This kit is for the rich old-guys that want to keep the fuel injection, but don't know where to start the mods. The kind of people that liked cars in the 60's, and think that fuel injection is technology that we stole from aliens, and is impossible to understand.
I'm pretty sure that 2 injectors will pump all the fuel a small block needs.

That system is actually pretty good. the 25hp they quote os for a MELLOW cam (3702 = 194/214deg and .396"/.442" lift). If you just put in an EFI-friendly 204/214 112lobe sep cam and play with fuel pressure and move the timing up a bit that system gets almost 300hp without PROM changes. Of course, with good 2.02 heads/exhaust, too.
The package was tested at Edelbrock with their 2012 cam, 204/214 .422"/.442"LIFT but didn't quite get though the sniffer so they had to go with the 3702 cam.
The manifold/injectors/rails/regulator/harness is really all you are paying for. Yeah, you can do it cheaper (like 3-400 bucks?), but it is a nice unit. Have not used it personally, but know a buddy with a truck with that system and I told the guy to put in the 2102 cam. NICE but I never drove it with the 3702 cam to compare. He said it was a WORLD of difference and Ibelieve him... This was a couple years ago, now. You could just use the generic Summit SIS 204/214 cam/lifter kit for $79 or so and yo'd be at 300hp for sure with PROM/timing changes. I bet you could see 350-400hp with a nice roller cam (Hot Cam?) and the 670cfm 2" TB unit on top but it will not bolt up, the holes are for the smaller unit. With PROM work, of course.
