EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED BY MORNING, please I wanna fix this Saturday!?!
I thought it went away, but it didnt... My car has an intermittent problem where it wont start, it will crank till the battery is dead with no trouble, just not fire over.
When it did it before I lost my license (2 months ago) I got fed up and popped off my quick disconnect fuel lines to see what I got, fuel sprayed, so it had pressure. Tried it tonight and fuel didnt spray, but there was fuel in the line.
So since I have been driving it again, it did it last night and tonight, Last night it wouldnt start, Put a battery cart on it after I killed the battery trying to start it, it cranked for about 2 seconds and fired over w/ no problems at all. ( This was after I had driven it to the firehouse from work and washed it)
Tonight It did it at a gas station, But here is the kicker, I came back 2 hours later, and it started up fine. And it was like that 2 months ago too. After it sits for a while its fine.
I know my started is a P.O.S, but (unless we determine it to cause this) it starts the car fine. It sounds like its spinning fast enough to start but that is never accurate, Think the starter just isnt spinning fast enough?
Fuel - Could it be something as simple as a fuel filter, or would it be the fuel pump? It gets fuel, I dont have any stumbling problems or loss of power, never stalls!
I have the SES light on for code 33, I tap on my MAF sensor and it doesnt stumble or anything (Diagnosis I have been told to try) TPS is Brand new and set rite.
What could be my problem, Is my starter trash, is it getting heat soaked? Is it something with code 33, is it a fuel problem
ANY IDEAS ?!?!?

could be the pump going out, but usually they just die and stay dead. Check out the pump's relay and the oil pressure (pump shutoff) safety switch.

Had the same thing happen to my wifes 96 bird. It would run a few days, and then just crank, and crank! Come back the next day, an started fine! Turned out the pump was bad! Didn't u say, fuel didn't spray this last time? It should! Hope this helps!!!!! Later!!!

I agree with the guy above. I had mine go out and thats just like my problems. Next time its doing it have a old ketchup bottle(plastic kind) full of gas and put the top on it. Open the lid so that the hole is open. Have someone crank the motor over and squirt a little bit of fuel at a constant rate through the throttle body. If she starts up and sputters and dies its your pump. The pumps act weird when there hot and going out.

if you check out my post abot Fixing Code 33, also active on the TPI board here. I think I may have fixed it, the wire going to the E lead on my MAF sensor was cut by my alternator pulley. We'll see,if the problem is gone, its fixed.
My car acted the same when my actual MAF sensor went, that was just a constant problem, not intermittent.
I dunno, I'll post back in a few days and update ya's

Carry a can of starting fluid with you. Next time it doesn't start shoot a couple seconds worth into the throttle body. This will determine if it's a fuel problem or an electronics problem. I'm betting it's ignition problem.
