searched...still need help on wiring fog light switch

In my 91 RS, I can't seem to get the fog light switch wired correctly. I have done a few searches, but what I have come up with doesnt help. What I have found, I tried, and the indicator light on the switch does not work the way I think it is suposed to.

I want the light to light up when the interior lights are on..which I don't think will be a problem. The thing that I can't igure out is the indicator light. I want it to only be lit when the lights are actually on.

The majority of the posts I have seen have things wired so that the indicator light is on all the time...even when the switch is in the "off" position.

I have sat out in the garage for a looooong time with my multimeter, but I just plain can't figure it out.

Anyone have anything to offer? I have a factory service manual for the car, but the wiring schematics have little to offer, because they have them wired in conjunction with the headlights. Which I do NOT want tyo do.

Thanks a lot...

-Brian

Are you using the factory switch? It has 2 lights in it, one for the light looking thing that comes on with the dash lights, and a little green light that tells you the lights are on, IE, when there is current flowing thru the switch.

You said "Interior lights". Did you mean dash lights?

If you meant dash lights, read these 2 posts completely and you should be OK. If you actually meant interior lights (when your door is open), you'll have to do something else.

Try "search" again, I got 81 topics for "fog lights".

Let me know if there's a problem, and good luck!!
