Is there any truth to the rumor that it can crack the windshied because of it's third mounting location on the firewall???

Ive never heard of that before. I have a friend with the edelbrock 3 point brace and he runs mid 10's on juice and he hasn't had any problems so I bet it's just a rumor.

On a 4th Gen car the firewall mount is much closer to the windshield. I'd day in that case I'd have a concern. I haven't heard or seen any thirdgen cars having a problem.

I got hit and my windshield did not break. The strut tower brace was pushed 2 inches to the left and the right strut tower was pushed back an inch.

Nice LS1 there!
The firewall is a bad place to put it!
Lucky enough we only bought a test unit from Edelbrock !
This unit is a BS design, they should keep on doing intakes!
Our 2c in here

I have the edelbrock TBI STB and although the fit and finish is to be desired it made my car handled very well and I too was in a bad wreck and it saved the hood. I hit a concrete divider at about 35mph and slid the whole car down this wall and the front frame was slightly bent but the hood is undamaged and as an Engineer I can tell you that there would have been much more damage had it not been for that brace. Check my site for pics, look at the allignment of the car and then look at the hood. Unbent.

The back of it. Yes I know it's blue, the car fades from purple to blue (as does the roll bar inside).

Sharp eye. That is indeed IRS, out of a C4. And those rear tires are now 315's. It's also got an Art Morrison coil-over front suspension in it as well. The thing has fully adjustable ride-height and suspension at all 4 corners. It's even more in the weeds than my GTA, which would get high centered on a 2x4 (not really, but it's low)

If y'all want more pics, I'll e-mail them to you at lunch today in a zip file.

i have the edelbrock stb on my car. it's pretty easy to put on, you just need to drill some holes. unfortunately though, i haven't really been able to drive the car with it on though, since i can't get a tranny that works....here's some pics....

if they don't work, just go to the site..

I bought one (Edelbrock strut tower brace for TBI/carb.) but in the rush to get it I didn't check that it wouldn't fit on cars with the A/C on the driver's side... does any one want to buy it? $120 takes it!

I'm really sorry about that, I didn't mean to do so.
one question for you guys with the Edelbrock STB, did you have issues with the strut caps being right in the way? On my car, they are, so I'm going to have to build a couple shims. I won't complain though, I got my bar for $60 with all new ARP hardware.
