Why wont my car shift outta 3rd at full throtale

I was wondein why when floor it and it kicks down a gear it wont go past what i think is third the car just goes faster and sounds like it is revvin relly high whats wrong. this happens when i in OD also.

In the 700R4 transmissions, GM made it so that if you press the gas pedal more than (2/3 I think it is?), it will automatically kick back down to drive from OD. The only way to fix this and get top speed possible from your 700R4 is to buy the kickdown valve. I dont know the part number but I'm pretty sure it's in the tech section of this site. This would fix your problem.

You will need to block the 4-3 part throttle kick down passages in the TV plunger sleeve. This will allow 3-4 WOT shifts and eliminate 4-3 kickdown at just about anything above 75 mph.
