I have a 1989 gta 700r4 my lockup doesnt work I had a b&m shift kit put in and I had them check the plug for the lockup and he said it was ok he said he would have to take the tranny down and check it out. if anyone can help give me a reason or a cure i would kindly appriciate it thanks.Rick

 

It maybe that the lockup clutch in the convertor is worn out. It is made from the same material as the friction disks in the trans. You might check the computer codes also, the ecm might have a code stored for this problem.

 

maybe your right about the clutch being warn out because the computer doesnt show any codes unless you have to check for them specificly i used the paper clip deal to check no codes came up.
