AGX Adjustable Shocks/struts question?
I'm going to purchase the kyb "AGX" adjustable shocks/struts. Now my question is.... I can't decide on what eibach springs to purchase. My thought was if I purchase the sporlines and I feel it looks too low, I can adjust the shocks to the look I want. Where as if I buy the pro-kit and it doesn't fill the gap like I'm expecting, then there's nothing I can do? What's your opinion?

Unless i am mistaken, the adjustability of the AGX shocks does not include ride height. These are not coil overs, where you can adjust the cars ride height. The AGX merely adjust the firmness of the shock, and from what i understand they don't do that as well as some other adjustable shocks. Although depending on your budget, they might fit your needs in that area. From what i have read also, the lowering springs may actually not be that much different ride height wise from your stock ones depending on their age (sagging stock springs can make the ride height pretty low).
Hope that helps,
Mike

Thanx Mike, I thought the same thing. I asked my buddy how he got his car to look lifted in the rear, and he said that it was from the adjustable shocks? (I don't think he even knows how to use them). So I may be better off just buying the GR-2's and the Gas-a-Just shocks to save on $$$$$! I'm just in a real debate on what springs to buy. I want to notice a difference, but not too much of a difference! Thanx again for your help......Maximus:hail:

i have ajx's in the front and gas-a-just in the rear with eibach pro-kit and 17inch rims and i can fit 2 fingers in the front wheel gap and 3 fingers in my rear wheel gap. To me it has the ride height im looking for.

So then w/ the adjustable shocks, it only changes your ride quality? It doesn't affect the way the car sits? So what happens when you adjust them? Why would I want to buy adjustables rather than non-adjustables? It's a huge difference in price so I want to make sure I'm happy w/ my purchase. "No Regrets". Thanx again for all of your help!

for a drag race
if you drag alot its great, front adjusted to soggy level one soft, and rear nice and hard and stiff so the front end lifts up a bit more than normal and you get going better
Chevy and BlackGold are right on, the adjustment is the shock valving / stiffness and has nothing to do with ride height. Your buddy's "adjustable shocks" are more than likely air shocks - add air,,, rear rises.

Any pics PHAT89TA? These shocks and struts seem to be what i am looking for. What other springs are you guys using with these shocks? Right now i have drag launch springs and i just don't like how the front end sits now. I might just buy a set of V6 springs for the front. I also hear that Moroso sells a set of front springs for our cars. Anyone with any more ideas? So these shocks are good for the street as well as some strip passes? Thanks

imo
imo ebiach make good springs, drag springs good for drag, not street, so that could be you problem, the v6 springs would be good for drag not street same thing as drag cause they take less force to compress them being as they only have to hold up a v6 like 100 lbs lighter than v8 i think i could be wrong, im guessing, but you could get are some are just the iroc springs they are not bad, but seeing as you have an iroc... what ever for street i dont think drag springs are a good idea, the pro kit ebiach would be nice, imo i dont know to many other brands but thats cause im not a fan of lowering springs any way
look at bmr, ground zero, ebiach, edelbrockand well im out of stuff so gnight cause its late, ill check back later...with more
and yes theese shocks would rule for street and strip because you can change from a drag set up to a street set up not to mention a auto cross(full hard)
