Roll Cage.
Roll Cage.
Anyone got any pics of an 8 point cage in their car on here. If you do could you send me a couple.. Installing a cage this week and just need some ideas on best location and what not. I don't have my Kirkey seat yet so i'm gonna wing it without the seat for now. I'll make the adjustments to the seat. Just wanted to get a general idea on where and how some have installed them. Perferable a weld in but bolt in will be fine too.. TIA
My cage is a Jegs 10 point and I'm gonna be hittin 10's this year. The cage is NHRA/IHRA approved to under 9.5's. So i'm not too worried about it. Why are you only doing a 5 point??
Keep this in mind, In order for it to be legal, your helmet must be no farther than 6" away from the Main Hoop. Also, the top of your helmet must be at least 3" below the top of the Main Hoop. Just thought you would like to know this.

I know the rules and regs for NHRA legal cages. I know the whole Helmit to bar clearance and what not. I just wanted to see some installs.. The whole helmit clearance is gonna be an issue for me anyways but the seat will take care of that. I'm 6'4". lol

2. Its Lighter, no need for extra weight.
3. Less cutting up the car to install all the extra points, that are not needed in the first place.
4. 10.00 still needs a 5 point cage to be legal, its only till you roll past 9.99 that you need to upgrade. A good 5 point cage will provide the protection you need in a roll over.
I notice that the cage above is being welded in place, I think in order for that to be legal you need to have reinforcing under the floor. Subframe cars are supposed to have Bolt-in rollbars unless its reinforced with a plate under it. I'll have to go grab a rule book.
