2 15" SUB WALL progress pics

Hey i started this like dec 2.. ..

first i got a hole bunch of carboard cut then formed then duct taped as i went.. till i came up with a wall of carboard.. after i did this like twice i was satisfied with my second carboard template. Then traced it onto mdf.. this took me awhile cause i made it alittle bigger then the template so i didnt mess up.. so i was in and out of the car ...cut then check.. cut then check.. about 30 times. Well heres the pics of the hardest part of this wall... gunna be 2 16kv.2 ed subs with a port in the middle..

see my old puney system in the sig haha i blew a kicker so now i start sumtin bigger

?

...Why are you making the box to go from floor to ceiling for two 15's? why not just put them in the well and make a fiberglass box? Fireturd did this for his two 18" kickers and hasnt had any problems.

hey man, sorry to interupt your thread, but could you E-mail me a walk-thru of how you made that box in your sig? thats what I want, and it would help alot if you could LMK how you went about building it, thanks.

so you are keeping the old box with no subs in it and building this new one? ? is that the only reason why you have to have a wall made for 2 15's? don't take this the wrong way as i am trying to understand you but i am getting the feeling that you aren't thinking this through all the way.

i just looked at the specs on that sub, i.e. box requirement and mounting depth and i think that you should be fine fitting them in the well/hatch. I sure think you dont need a huge wall like the one you are designing. that will be overkill. now if you are putting 3+ then i can see the need for the wall.

im not sure how well thats going to work out in an infinite baffle setup

also id definitely suggest going ported if you're going with a walled setup.

the original plan for my car was a wall of my 2 18's but after looking at all the cuts and angles id have to make that idea got old fast

No im pretty sure they jus all look at the pics then form an opinion. I liek what your doing its new its fresh it hasent been done. Originality is the reason we customize our cars. On the other hand would i do it to my car? prolly not. Looks good tho keep up the good work and keep us posted on the progress.

umm...hello...i did not bash you once so calm down. my statement was made asking you what you meant so that i understand what it is exactly that you are doing. reread that last paragraph i wrote then ask me if i read yours because it will be obvious to you that i did. i may not have understood but i did read the damn thing.

so are you leaving it an infinite baffle wall or are you building other faces for the sides, top, bottom etc??

Your spelling and grammar brings me to tears.

It's funny, and it could just be me, but I don't value people's opinions on things, when they can't even exert the effort to spell correctly so as not to cause brain injuries.

ugh

what u talken about a face for the sides top .. u mean behind the face? so it becomes an actual box? im buildin it like a regular box.. all enclosed in. and its not going to look like that when im done what ever your name is "/\/\/\" sumtin like that. Right where the bottom of the face stops im going to have like a bench come off 90*.. its hard to explain..

heres a side pic

can you just answer my original question? what advantage is this wall setup going to have over the one you already have in the well? are you keeping the box in the well and putting 2 more 15's? i know you said you blew one of those kickers but why not still utilize the well and keep the backseat and view through the hatch?

i dunno cause it looks crazy .. i could hit higher spl numbers, easier to get more cf for it to be ported, its a 2 seater so a wall is sumtin fun, im going to make it so it can be taken out in like 20 minutes.. plus i'll have a camera in the back of the car with a monitor up front, there's just not enough cf in that little spot.. i just dont kno man its a hard decision but i started it. it will be good for comps, car shows, specially if i fiberglass it and have it all painted pearl white..

it might all weigh like 140 lbs......how much u think that will slow me down when i drop in the 355 vortec say i run a 13 flat what u think id run with the system in?

plus i think the camera is a good idea. i just like going all out with stuff like ****... i mine as well make a wall... since i'll be in a car club i just gotta have sumtin crazy.. just i kno u guys may think its dumb and i kno our camaro's are muscle cars mostly all for speed.. which is why i might change my mind... I JUST DONT KNOW!!!

Ugh. Cut and paste that mess into MS word and run the grammar and spell checks next time.

It's not "new", and it's not "fresh" either. People have been doing ghetto fabulous top to bottom speaker systems in thirdgens sience well before you were born.

BTW, what exactly is a "vortech RS" anyways??

Also, I am dying to see how a 305TBI car runs 11 second passes.

dont not do it because we dont like the idea. I just think it would be more practical with more than two subs. you can do whatever YOU want. we are just here to give advice and opinions, no matter how much you might not like them.

Walls are not new or fresh, but they can be cool. i would never do one to any of my rides, but we ain't talking about my rides.we are talking about yours. Do you like the wall idea? Then build it and tell all the people who don't like it to STFU. Actually it would be like "Huh- I can't hear you"
I am not a big fan of the E.D. subs but if like 'em go for it. I say two Brahma's with about 2Kwatts= you deaf in no time

crazy3rdgen:
Ignore all the "they don't think it's cool" BS.
Ignore your own "It would be cool" BS.
Logic and reason.
Will the subs sound better and be louder in a well built, properly tuned ported box? YES.!
Do you need all that room to get the Cf you need for a well built, properly tuned ported box? You've got the tape measure and it's you car. I could see you needing allot more room then you have in the well for a ported box. Keep in mind it gets messy trying to use a wall AND the well.
The kink in the plain? Is a wall practical? For most people, NO. If you've got a cam and screen in the car, why not? Will you mind driving with the wall there? If not, why not?
If you do it, don't be geto about it, do it right and F' everyone.
