Well, It look's nice on ****, but it should stay on ****-right where it belongs in my opinon.

Our car's are Hot Rod's to be, anything like that might "sound" great in your head, but is going to make a nice ride "*****"

I mean underglow is fine, sure I like it.

But anything else, your going down hill.

I don't want to sound like an ***.
In fact I see where you are coming from I hate the manual plastic door too.

But you just can't stick **** on a 3rd gen man. It's like driving a ford you will go to hell for that stuff man!

Just my 2 cents on the matter.

I never understood why people would want to draw attention to a gas cap. If anything Id want to hide the gas cap. Its just hard to hide it on thirdgens.

I like them depending on the colour of the car. Like if the car is silver or black or something I think it would look good. But if its like teal or orange....prolly wouldnt look too hot. Its not ****, thats the opinion of wash-ups

edit: and I dont see how the aluminum gas door is **** but neon underglow isnt??? I'm not gonna bash people with neon (if you guys like it its perfectly fine with me) but I think thats like a pre-requiste for ****.

An aluminum gas door is ****.......?

See the pictures below, I don't think any of them qualifies as ****......

I'm with lock on this one, don't bring attention to the gas door, keep it the same color as the car.....

I don't think a shiny gas door looks cool at all. The motorcycle ones look cool, but those are motorcycles.

I just happen to have a Bullit cap on the wife's 2000 Mustang GT (gave her the cap for Christmas last year). I've measured it and it looks as if it would fit with minor modifications. I think it would look good on certain colors...

I personaly would like to shave my gas cap off totaly, and move the gas inlet somewhere else. but unfortunatly... we have a hatch motor behind the license plate that would be the obvious place.

Idonno if I would want to move the gas inlet to somewhere inside the hatch, I would hate to drip gasoline inside the hatch compartment.

any ideas?

wow! you guys can shure go at someone! hehehe its ok i guess. Ive done it in the past. I just kinda like the clean look of the cap. Now would you of said different if the same gas cap thats on the eclipse was stock on a Z06? hummm.... think about that. under car lights are undercar lights... but what if an icon of american sports cars got a gas cap similar to that?

id say put it under the plate, but the hatch pull down and the "storage" well are in the way.

a KICKASS trick i just thought of would be to hinge the rear light, so that you could swing it out of the way, and have the gas cap under there.

however, that sounds like alot of work....

hehe, i JUST thought of that too...

hm... that hinge light idea DOES sound pretty trick... or even some type of quick release to undo the light from inside the hatch (a hinge would probalby create some problems... ).

Hm... you got me really thinking now... I'm going to take a serious look at my hatch and lights next week when I start putting the interior back in.

I really want to shave the gas lid, because I don't believe I have ever seen it done before on a camaro, and shaving things off really fits my conservative tastes, I don't like just "bolting" extra things on to the car... everybody does that, especialy on the imports. I like the nice clean look.

and i dont think the hinge would be that hard.

you would just have to either make it adjustable so you can adjust the light straight, or be careful when you do it that it is straight when closed.

while you're shaving random parts of your car off, what about the door handles? they stand out in your sig pic from that angle

if not shaved handles, then atleast smoothie ones...

oh, and a late model RS hood would "shave" off thoes hood vents.... and (im not sure if i like this idea but) you could "shave" the center bar of the headlights using monte carlo lights..

OOOR ive always wondered if thoes angled saturn lights could be made to stick out and smoothly fill the gap from the headlight pocket, up to the hood.....

Actually the hinged tailight to hide the gas cap idea is like 5-7 years old in the import crowd...it use to be the mod to do not so long ago you'd see it in all the r*ce mags, when shaving everything possible was all the rage. Nonetheless its not a bad idea. as for the billet racing style cap, I don't think that is r*ce at all there are plenty of cars that have had caps like that before even Japanese cars made it to the states. If you tink about it there are more non-japanese cars out there with that style of gas cap than the other way around. I saw a pretty clean tasteful VW GTI in a mag not so long ago that modified a motorcycle gas cap to fit his car. It was an all black car and the cap gave it an interesting look. If you also think about it the r*cers probably just copied it from old school hot rodders who've done everything that r*cers do only decades ago =)

Yeah, the 55, or was it 56??? Chevy had a flip tail light gas filler stock. Making one that moves the entire housing by a button sure looks neat though!
