Do you think having TPIS port the plenum is wort it or should I get something like you have (Super Ram w/ Edelbrock Baseplate)? Also do you know of any descent street cam/valvetrain. I plan on maybe getting the 305 S/R Torquers when I decide to rebuild the motor.

Lingenfelter doesn't recommend the super ram for 305's. having your plenum opened up is a good idea . you are going to want to get a better beathing base like the (edelbrock, big mouth or accel) or you could have your stock intake base ported. I've heard that the base is the most restrictive part of the TPI.

sounds good to me...yeah with the baseplate and runners just port the hell out of the plenum and ur good to go...the super ram is a no no...as far as a valvetrain, with new heads get all new crane or comp rockers, lifters, rods, timing chain, etc and do some research on cams...im gonna have a similar setup to what ur doin and i got the LT4 cam...with 1.5 rockers its 203/210 .445/.450 115 LSA...should work out well...have fun

Actually I was thinking. Should I just send the T/B, Plenum, Runners, and Base out to TPIS so they can port and port match everything? I really just do not feel comfortable doing all of this myself because if i screw anything up I can't afford new parts. How much do you think it would cost to do all the port work? Yeah I think when the time coms (the motor is a reman that is less than 2 years old) I will call up crane or comp cams and have them set me up with everything.

ur better off with an aftermarket base and runners...it will get u more power than the stock stuff is capable of and wont cost u much more...very worth it...as far as the plenum u can do easily urself, its pretty screw up free...and if somehow u do screw it up, then buy one...or go to a junk yard and try again...the most important thing is research, take ur time and look around, learn how to do stuff and ull end up saving cash and having a better car...not to mention more fun...i see ur from MA eh? down the road...www.nefbody.com

So from what I have read all you really need to do is remove some EGR plates and open up the runner ports a little. I would imagine that the gaskets would let me get an idea of how much to remove on the plenum anyways right? Actually, that leads me to another question. Does the Edelbrock base/runners come with the installation kit?

the only things for installation are gaskets and if u want, intake bolts, which arent included...yeah somewhere in the tech articles is a great porting article, read it carefully and ull have no problems, knocking down the EGR wall and gasket matching the runners, and just try and get some more room so the air can get to the runners asap...

Oh ok I wasn't sure if they came with the gaskets, because it didn't say in summit. I can't seem to find the tech article on the plenum porting. All I found was how to do the runners and base in the tech section. If you could post a link it would be most appreciated. Thanks guys.

Ok I have made some updates to the list I think that this will probably be it unless anyone has any other suggestions. Like I said this is a mostly street car that I want to be able to have fun in.
