93 LT1 TB with 700R4 and the 93 TV cable...not working
Have a 95 LT1 connected to a 700R4. Using the 93 Throttle body and 93 t.b. bracket. Using TPI cable for the accelerator. Using 93 TV cable.
Problem is that i'm not sure how to hook up the 93 tv cable to the throttle body. There are two places to possible hook it up and i assumed it was the upper post thingy, not the lower. Because the lower one exists on the 94-97 TB and is used for cruise control i think? Anyway, hooked up the tv cable to the upper post and now can't get the TB to fully open. So, do i have it hooked up wrong, or is there an adjustment needed to be made, or am i using the wrong cable?

If i'm not mistaken, the TV cable is a pull from the TB, not a push, if you hooked it to the top, then you are putting it in a bind. The Cruise hooks to the top so it can pull the Throttle body like the gas pedal when you push it down.

bowtie overdrives has a kit that you can get to get that working with your setup. I recommend it if you dont want to buy another 700r4
the top seems to pull not push.
If my 700R4 blows up, i'll buy a 4L60E or T56 instead. I'll look in bowtie overdrives but my setup should be working and i haven't ran across anyone with this problem.
edit: bowtieoverdrives.com just has tv cables and throttle brakets. Didn't really see anything to fix my problem.

Figured it out. The 93 TV cable has an adjustment on it just like 3rd gen tv cables. The button on the end by the throttle body has a button for adjustment for more/less slack. Thirdgen.org shows how to adjust this in the technical articles section.

just make sure to check your pressures. If you have ANY pressure lag when giving even the smallest tug on the tv cable, you have it wrong

Firebat, why couldn't you use the original t.b. bracket?
I am curious because I need to figure all this out still as I am trying to get an LT1 set up into an 86 IROC.
Are the TV cables different lengths? Can I just use my 86 TV cable and bracket?

Thanks for the link and the instructions....this will definitely come in handy. I have a BBK throttle body on the front of this motor too so will have to see if everything lines up.
My wife is due with our first baby tomorrow so sorry if I don't get back online for a little while, I have a feeling there won't be much time for car building for the first couple weeks...
Thanks again for the guidance, I will be sure to follow along.
