Vote for your favorite firebird!

Decided to go ahead and start the firebird poll up, camaros need some more sorting.

Don't take offense if your car was not put up here, if you missed the topic at: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...5&pagenumber=1 and you want your car added to the poll. We can start another one later or something.

If I missed someone I apologize. If the outcome is not overwhelming to just one person, we will have another poll and in the process throw the other cars in it as well.

I know I missed:
Roshambo
nosaint
92GTA (you didn't seem happy with your pic, so I decided not to post it on here)
83firebirdS/E
Mitch DoGG

Vote for the above if in the post instead of the poll if you liked them more than the above. We may need another poll after this one to narrow it down and find a winner.

I vote for mine Not to be shallow but that's why I own my car The pic in my sig is actually the best exterior pic I have, it's a nice one but it's just that my others suck I do think my car should be in the top 5 though If I can't vote for myself I vote for FlyinLow89 because I think his cars color is my new second favorite color after mine.

Here is my profile on this site for some interior and engine pics:
https://www.thirdgen.org/rides/index...ew&rideid=1116

The engine pic doesn't show the SLP parts because the picture was taken during this last summer before I found out my car was originally ordred with it. It's undergoing a little resto in my garage this winter so in spring it should have the complete SLP kit on her like she was supposed to have according to my original dealer order invoice Also the HP/TQ stats reflect what it should be with the kit, I'll have actual dyno results this spring also.....

Hey man I like your car and not dissing you but just wondering. What's up with hood off thing? Do you not have a hood or just can't make up your mind? Just wondering cause I've never seen your car with a hood on it.

QwkTrip's too shy to say it, but a stock hood won't close on there with his blower, and he doesn't like many of the aftermarket ones, or the ones that he does like aren't tall enough. I think a stock hood cut for the blower is in the future, though I think a pro-stock scoop would look cool on there too.

Heh, wish I could, but I'm somewhat broke at the moment. Unless he wants one made out of cardboard I don't believe I can help him.

Camrs89,

Can't do the camaro one because of too many camaros.... and I'm not sure if I should be in it.

So I figured I'd let someone else do it. I think Blue502 has the camaro section wrapped up though, who knows though

Hey Ion, why don't you guys divide the Camaro's into groups by color or something and then the winners from each catagory goes to the finals! Cool idea huh! This stuff kicks ***!

If you subdivide it then maybe it would be better to do it by years (82-84, 85-90, 91-92), or by type (sport coupe, RS, Z28, IROC), or by style (stock, modified, race car) might be better than by color? Or, just wait for more people to vote in order to sort it out better.

No I don't. The whole 2 foot tall inflamed nostril, I have a runny nose, pig snout thing does absolutly nothing for me.

I don't mean any offense by that, He does have a nice car, it's just the hood I don't like.

Hmm, I don't remember SLP-GTA's, FlyinLow89's, or Black_Widdow's cars very well, lol. I know I've seen them though. All of the ones on the list are very nice cars but I think I'll have to vote for Ben87GTA's (I hope that's right) car. There's just something about it that is absolutely stunning.

no no hold on u have the nicest stock trans am, I have the nicest stock firebird, but thats how i built it. I just was never into fabricateing the living hell out of a car to make it run with new ram airs. I personally bought a 1989 ponitac firebird to have a 1989 pontiac firebird. Not a firebird with a 355 blown and NOS fed where everything was taken out and replaced with aftermarket parts, and cowl hoods and aftermarket spoilers, nothing against u guys who like that becouse i love that stuff as well but i personally feel pontiac did enough with the car and when its time for a faster car ill just buy a 4th gen or maybe mod my 86, thas on is still up in limbo......i have 2 all origional fully restored firebirds(1trans am 1firebird) and than there is my 86 LGwhore, what u guys think??? that car has a good mod platform for a built 350, it has a brand new tranny and a 9 bolt rear end so i probably wouldnt have to fabricate to much. so come spring sell the 86 and buy a 93LT1 6 spd car or keep the 86 and but a crate 350 in it with a weiand roots blower? heres the car

Sounds like someone's a sore loser..
4th gen wanna be Firebirds? Hmm.. sounds pretty cocky. He was right, you toot your own horn too much. Your car is so plain, but I guess if you like them plain, then yours is the best. Your attitude is very One Eyed Jack-like. I don't know why I waste my time.
Anyway, I voted for 86FyrBrd cause I love his car. QwkTrip: You said if we vote for you we get a ride in the 650HP car, but I hope we don't get run over by your 650HP car if we don't vote for you

I know you didn't post this at me but hey what are you complaining about? You and 86 are running neck & neck for the overall best Firebirds. I noticed that everyones car in the poll was modified in some way (Wheels or etc.) except mine and now I guess ONEFINE8T9. So I thought hey If mines stock and I made it in there then mine must be the best stock Firebird(now corrected to say Trans Am) I maybe tooting my own horn too so "toot, toot and away I go!).LOL

ok, I understand the feeling of rejection, if I wouldnt have gotten a large sum of money this summer I'd still be in the same boat, but why did you start cutting up everyone elses car, yeah you have a nice car but it is not any more or less firebird than mine. Mine may be a "4th gen wannabe" but it is still a firebird, who cares if its got an extra RPO that makes it a TA You could win if it was stated stock firebird, but it wasnt stated if it was stock, custom, or anything, it was out of the ones listed above that seemed to be the favorites, some are stock some are not

to everyone else, thanx for your compliments, qwktrip, nice car, naturally I voted for my own but I do love your car, its a very clean stock look with a beast under the hood...wait there is no hood Love the rims too.

seriously though all the cars that got a good number of votes are the farthest thing from factory. Excuse me if i like the way pontiac designed the car, jsut like jobryan liked the way pontiac made his trans am. If i would have spent money modding my car instead of bringing it back to OEM i could be running 11 also, i just felt a 2500 paintjob is a better investment than a 2500 motor, especially considering i have a 59k mile car.
Your car is so plain, but I guess if you like them plain, then yours is the best.
nothing is more plain than an automatic tranny, i dont care if u have a TPI 350 or not automatic cars suck, those are plain cars. U also have a black camaro, take a drive down n e relateively popular street and see if u can count how many of those u find. The odd thing is u have an IROC and i see tons of them, i have a base model firebird and i have yet to see one around here like it. I guess i am tooting my own horn again but so be it for calling it lie it is. No pun intended but there is nothing more plain and common than a black camaro with an auto
u have the nicest stock trans am,
it really sounds like i cant stop talking about my car huh

Car: 1989 IROC-Z
Engine: 383 stroker
Transmission: 700R4 3500 stall, TransGo shift kit
Axle/Gears: Moser 9", 4.11:1
If I drive down a relatively popular road, I probably will see a Camaro, either black or red. But I bet it won't be a thirdgen, or an IROC. I know of two other IROCs around here, one red and one blue. Theres also a white 91 or 92 Z28, a red RS vert, an 89 or so red rs, and a black 83 Z28 (but its manual)
As for my trans, I don't care to put it simply. When I said yours was plain, I meant appearance-wise. Trans doesn't have anything to do with that.

I think I saw a way to ignore members somewhere, that might just come in handy soon..

ok, I understand the feeling of rejection, if I wouldnt have gotten a large sum of money this summer I'd still be in the same boat, but why did you start cutting up everyone elses car, yeah you have a nice car but it is not any more or less firebird than mine. Mine may be a "4th gen wannabe" but it is still a firebird, who cares if its got an extra RPO that makes it a TA You could win if it was stated stock firebird, but it wasnt stated if it was stock, custom, or anything, it was out of the ones listed above that seemed to be the favorites, some are stock some are not
dude its nothign against your car, u did a great job with what u did, hell if i where trying to do the same theme with my car i coulndt have done a better job myself. Dont make the mistake though there is no feeling of rejection i jsut assumed that when they said who has the nicest Firebird i though it meant just that, i guess missinformation, u guys all have great cars dont take n e thing personal. Maybe i just been away from mine to long what with winter and all and me having my car in storage i dont get to see it alot so it kinda works on my nerves. who knows, maybe i am just a mental case freaked out third gen fan......

Your car is so plain,
this jsut says my car is plain, not in what aspect. In my book 5 spd or auto can make or break a car, id never buy another auto thirdgen i can tell u that much. Bottom line u have a black camaro with an auto, if that isnt plain i dont know what is

ONEFINE8T9 I understand what you're saying. You're not crazy!LOL You just think these car are in a completly different class of cars than ours. Because they have alot of aftermarket stuff, but that's why they are leading in this post which is cool with me. I love their cars too but not jealous of them either. Kinda like the K-1 car, I like it but wouldn't do it to my car either but that doesn't mean I don't like it. If the Poll was "stock firebird" it would probably different but this one is just "best Firebird". So I look at it as an overall class and it's hard to compare a stock car to a highly modified one.

Just to clear two things up. In the subject where it says firebird, it means all trans ams, formulas, firebirds, and GTAs. You always pick the base model, like who has the best camaro, yet people with Z28s and iroc-zs would also be included.

Second about black camaros be everywhere, it's funny you should mention that because me and another guy (I know him) are the only two in my town. We are both 91s, his is 305 mine being a 350.

Then you complain about autos being boring... not everyone likes to have to shift. I'd take an auto any day over a stick, and I may be one of the few. This is a discussion that comes up quite often on www.ls1.com, but the fact is, not everyone wants to shift all the time. Especially when in traffic, or when you go to get some food. Or if you have to travel for a long period of time. I'm quite happy with a auto, plus I had to have a 350.

I have to agree with you on that one. There's nothing like trying to eat a Blizzard from Dairy Queen while driving thru town. But out on open hwys I love a stick.

ONEFINE8T9, No offense taken, but I'm telling you, there are no black camaros around here. In fact, I'd like someone to check that someday if anyone knows how to find what color was produced more. There are tons of red (vary light to dark) camaros, infact, mine used to be. But no blacks. There is blue, white, even two yellows I believe. I live in a small town though, so that may change things.
