Daaaaaamn !!!!

I'm up for it, if someone can make the overlays (hint... ask MacEwen!). The LED work in the back of the guage would be rather easy if I had those overlays.

I'm trying to make those guages right now. It's very frustrating w/out the right tools. That's why I'm downloading CorewDraw 10. I mean... ugghh.... downloading it to my computer from my backup CD

Ryan Macewen was supposed to be working on indiglo gauges for the cars. Him and I had pricing and quantity already worked out for a group purchase, but he wasn't done with the prototype. Then I never heard from him. He never got back to me. My guess is that he had problems getting the EL sheets to fit the contour of the gauges. It's a real pisser, because I wanted a set pretty badly.

I like em' but wish the redline was closer to 8500 or 9000 rpm. And the speedo needs to be around 200.

Those are some damn fine gauges. What car are they from? I wonder if it would be possible to wire those gauges to our dash. Hmmmmmmmm. Any idea how one can convert the signals from the sensors from our cars so that import gauges would work?

All you have to do is make overlays that look just like those guages. I'm working on it as we speak... didnt get to finish them last nite. They will be black but when the blue and red shine through (like the do in my current dash) they will look just like those guages. I wont be able to say I have white face guages anymore though. But watch out when I turn those suckers on! wow!

Well, sure, you could make overlays to look like that, but I want the gauges like that too, next to each other with the tach intersecting with the speedo Just think about all the gauge options we would have if we could use import gauges, they have hundreds of different styles and overlays of all differnt colors....

Dang, if its out of a 4th gen, I bet it'd be very easy to swap those gauges in. I'm sure some electronics wiz on the board can figure out how to hook them up. The most difficult part of it will probably be mounting the new gauge cluster....

Looking at that I'm wondering if that's for an LT1/LS1 powered 4th Gen's dash. I may be not seeing it correctly but the speedo and the tach make it seem that way.

Either way, sweet looking dash!

even if those indigo overlays did work with a 3rd gen car

would you need a digital display like the 90-92 camaros have? or is it possible to get them to work with the 89 and down camaros?

Digital Display? I've only heard of Digital Displays in the earlier model Berlinetta Camaros. Even so, why would it need to be digital?

He is talking about the switch to electronic controls for the guages, instead of gear driven and such...... not digital...
All the 90-92 cars had electronic guages. Bye bye speedo cable!

Ahh, I see. A mixup in terminology. As long as they come out with a set that fits the older style dash you shouldn't have a problem, they are just like any other gauge overlay, 'cept these glow

Well, I guess my last post was a little mileading. These type of gauge overlays require a small power inverter that is mounted somewhere in the dash. All you do is supply a ground and a switched 12 volts (something in the parking lamp circuit would be best, so they come on when they are supposed to). When the switch goes on, wha-la, glowin gauges

I did a little checking around and there's a company that'll make them, but there has to be atleast 25 people to sign on or they won't do it. Check it out here.

Those things look sweet. I think I might have to see what I can do about getting them. I wonder how hard they would be to install. And how long it would take. Very nice find!

I like those. I am tired of looking at the orange dials with the charcoal background. I prefer the inverse color selection. I wish they could add a few more numbers onto the 85 MPH speedo, there was room to go to at least 110.
