hello
I just had my scanner hooked up to my car 3.1v6 730 ecm
and the timming was all over the place up and down and no steady is this right??? no knock retard either. Would this be a timming chain problem and would this cause high NOx count?

Completely normal. That is the beauty of the 730. The fluctuating timing is one of the things done to yield a rock steady idle.
