Help,dropped a nail

I was cleaning out my glove compartment and put a couple of nails on my dashboard and one rolled down into the air vent in the center of the dash, will this cause any problems if I leave it there? Also how do I get it out if I have to?Thanks

It'll probably wind up behind your radio, in the heater vent. On my Firebird, I have the separate radio console, it's not connected to the main center console. If I remove the radio console, there's a y-shaped heating vent which feeds the side vents of the radio. Two 9/32" screws hold the Y-shaped vent to the dash, remove them, and you get a rectangular heating outlet. The nail will probably wind up there.

At least it wasn't one of the screws holding the dashpad to the dash... then you'd be out a screw!

Pete Townsends work is inspirational
And we can go on about musical tastes forever.
Needless to say radios work great at quieting squeeks & rattles.
Just doesn't cure lousy or worn steering items!

Nor worn trannys!

I tried using the mechanics magnet, but the one my friend has doesn't bend enough to get it deep in there.I'm going to change my CD player soon so I'll wait till then to go digging around. It's not rattling as much as I thought and I always keep the radio cranked as loud as possible anyway, mostly Guns N' Roses. Thanks

I can always suggest other music.
You can always try
Ten Years After - "I'm Going Home" from Woodstock
LED ZEPPLIN ALBUM ONE SIDE TWO WHOLE THING LOUD!
Wayne, what are eardrums!
I did attend some of the best concerts you'd ever experience in the 70's & 80's & 90's. And met most of the performers I saw, too.
I'm gonna see THE WHO at the HOLLYWOOD BOWL AGAIN on July 1st. Saw them do "Tommy" back in 1989 (not the televised Universal show, next night at Collisem).
I get seats at top level, BEST SOUND, cheapest price!
I've seen them real close in the 70's after Keith died.
Wayne, you install a fader in the seat speakers!
