Attn: TomP. Distributor cap other than Accel with brass terminals...
Borg-Warner Select. Just picked up mine yesterday.
I too hated my aluminum terminal cap... I'll let you know how this one works for me.
At Pep-Boys, the cap was 12.99 and the rotor was 4.49.
You'd be surprized what you can find at Pep-Boys nowadays. ALOT of thier prices are cheaper than Summit! My sway bar end links would have been 20 something from Summit, I got mine from PB for 15 and change. Both comprable products.
Anyway, just figured I'd let you know, I remember a while ago you blew up that stock cap & rotor...

The cap and rotor are nice, a little bit of improvement, but I'll never know because now I know I definatly have an underlying problem. I do not know what it is... The car has no pick up, the more throttle, it just bogs... I have an O2 to put in and try, but if it's not that, it's either timing or injectors...
Anyway, when I get home I'll get you the part numbers. I still have both boxes.
P.S. The cap and rotor are both grey.

Karl, I already rebuilt all the vacuum lines back there. Good suggestion though.
I checked them while I was under there today, everything is still tight, and today I pulled 18 inches/Hg when I was comparing my car to a friends...
Anyway, here are the part numbers you requested.
Borg Warner Select Distributor Cap (brass terminals): C244
Borg Warner Select Rotor: D207
(you could probably not get the premo rotor, but it's only a dollar more than their standard line, it's up to you.)
For those interested in the sway bar end link bushings I picked up at Pepboys, they are Prothane bushings, 3" mounting length (comes with the hardware you need) and they are part number: 19-402
I hope that helped some of you out.

Xeno, thanks for the tip! All 4 of the Pep Boys near me (okay some weren't so near!) were out of the BW Select cap. I wound up ordering another frickin' Accel cap. Thanks for the part #s though, I'll write 'em down, and I'll have to hunt that cap/rotor down!
$20 for an end link set?? Wow... what part # did you look up? Was it Prothane? For Energy Suspension, in red, ENS-9-8117R is $13.99! But I guess for an extra $1 that Pep Boys price isn't that bad. I can't stand Pep Boys though, I'd buy from Summit even if it was a couple bux more.
I went to Pep Boys today to get 6 AC plugs (no more Splitfires for my MSD box), and they only had 2. 2?! Geez. I never thought I'd have to call ahead to check stock on spark plugs!

Autozone also sells cap and rotor kits w/brass terminals. The company name is conrad. I've used them for 4 years and have had pretty good luck with them
I was welcomed to the 21st Century when I had to special order points for an in-line Chevy Six Cylnder.
It's not totally sad, I mean, I can still order these parts!
Don't get scared, but, there is a day when I won't be able to get points for my old Chevy 6!
At a cycle swap meet, I bought about 10 sets of points for my old 1972 Honda CB 200 motorcycle.
$1 each!
I'm still trying to find a cheap headlight. Mine is Honda Specific along with it's old part price tag & new 2002 dollar adjusted price!
Like the wrecking yard gy told me
"Finding good low milage 3.4 engines is getting harder & harder every day...."
Ask my Pep Boys friend and he tells me, the 3.4 blocks are maybe just starting to hit the recyclers for rebuilding....
Try finding 283 - 327 blocks, cheap, anymore!

Tom.
Yes, that is the true price of the part that Summit sells. However, you must also take into consideration the 6 dollar handling fee they add onto every order. If I was ordering 6 of these things it would come out to be the same price, but I wasn't, plus, at Pep Boys, I can walk out with the part in-hand. Whereas with Summit, I have to wait at least a day.
Oh yeah, stock sway bars painted red with Rustoleum don't look to bad. Too bad it's a SC stock sway bar. A little thin, but it certainly beats not having one at all! Hopefully it'll be installed by the end of the week.

Ah, true; I usually don't order just one part from Summit. I'd go locally, too. And our front bars aren't that bad; 34mm's... the rear bars could use a bit of work, though. My 3.73/posi/disc rear axle, currently behind the garage
has a 21mm rear bar on it. I could definately feel an improvement with that bar on there! I went with the POR-15 look on it, though. Good idea about the red!

is there anything wrong with the Accel cap and rotor kit, i was going to buy it. The price is only 19.99 at advance auto parts. Has anybody had any bad luck with them, and if so what brand would you recommend. Also what wires should i get, my ignition is stock and im just doing a tune up.

Accell SUX I had there cap and rotor the thing corroded within a month i had green terminals inside and out.
And I've reused old Accel caps & Rotors (cement cleans rotor tip great!).
Just take a screwdriver inside, scrape the "bad stuff" (get a clean surface) slap it on & go.
I haven't chnaged caps in so long....
And I've got 4 cars running the stuff.
I vote strong for Accel stuff.
Afraid when I change toa another name I'd get your problems, David!
David, have left messages.
Gonna write again.
Wish you let me know when I was next door to Pomona, other week.
I'll keep calling til I speak with Ben.

$15.25 at Summit Racing, and the same thing happened to me that happened to FAST RS, except, I notice it at my yearly major tuneups. Sure you can clean the cap, but what, do I have to check the thing every damn week to make sure the terminals are clean? I shouldn't have to worry about the corrosion inside my brand new cap, ya know? In a month or so I'll hunt down that borg warner or some other brand, and then the Accel gets kept as a spare.
