Hey! It looks kinda like mine... but nicer.... MUCH nicer... and the paint doesn't suck... and ...and... oh, yeah, the 502 engine!!! Woah, that's sick... in a good way! More pix, please! Oh, and I'm guessing you don't have emissions in your neck of the woods, huh? What's the gas mileage like in that thing-- wait, what am I thinking? That's no dailer driver like mine!

that looks awesome in there! What mods are done to the motor? How hard was it to shoe-horn that in?

I have quite a few more pictures if you wan't to see them. So far the only hard part was the exhaust the rest has been your standard engine install. I really should have cleaned it up abit before i took the pictures, hasn't been washed in a month(to busy trowing parts in the car).

The Longblock is a GM performance 502. I used a differen't intake to fit it under the hood. Pretty tight under their but I can shut the hood no problem, not to bad for calculating the intake height months in advace with no Physical engine. The only thing I wish I could of done different is poly motor mounts instead of solid, but the exhaust and intake are to tight so I had to use solid mounts.

Good job smoothing the firewall. That definately cleans up the engine bay a lot. Only bad part is that it gets really cold in the car. Did you replace the vent controls with anything? That's how I'd like my car to eventually look.

Well around here it dosn't get that cold and it's not going to be a daily driver so I'm not to woried about a heater. To me I would rather have the firewall look clean intead of climate control.

No that is not nitrous those are my fuel lines but eventually I'm going to give it a 150-200 shot of juice. I have a few more pictures I don't have the crome alternator in a few and some other parts got switched around as well.

It would be wicked if he left the exterior stock, then when the 4th gen dudes, and ricers pull up to the lights and rev up, he'll rip them a new a$s-hole, they wont know what hit them! LOL!!!

btw how much is a 502 if you don't mind I asking.

I know a few answers of the questions for him. I know the motor cost in the range of 7 or so. I dont remember the numbers, but I know it will at least 500. He is playing it to be a sleeper on the outside.

Well, the engine is around 7 grand but thats ony part of the cost the cooling and fuel systems get expensive to. I am intending to keep the exterior stock like, but it's going to be pretty lound not by choice but becouse of the lack of space for any real piping or mufflers.

Oh yea and the engine makes 502hp and 567 pounds of torque.
Since the rotating assembly is forged I may eventually run a decent shot of nitrous.

I know a guy with one of those 502s in his tiny little speedboat. I was gonna show it to firbird but the place was closed when we got there. ah well. That guy won't be around much longer.. hehe. The shop owner wants the work paid in full before he gives the boat back, 'cause this guy is gonna kill himself with that kind of power in that tiny boat.

Yeah, it definitely looks good. Can't wait to see it

I have headers in mine and it was by far the worst part of the swapthe rest I enjoyed. If you plan on geting headers don't buy the hookers the suck bad(I should know I have them) get custom ones made they are more expensive but worth it.

That looks so sweet. Looks right at home under the hood, very nice job, can't wait to see some track number on that baby. Really if it wasn't for the valve covers I doubt anyone would guess 502 when they looked under there. Looks great!!!!!!!

you got yourself one hell of a ride!

thats the kinda car i dream of! what mods did you do to the chassi?

GREAT JOB!!!! A+++++

What trans is behind that? 700R4 would be awesome if correctly built to handle the power....

Well as of now nothing is done to the rest of the car but that is my next project. I will get subframe conectors and a roll cage to atempt to keep the frame from twisting in half on me (solid mounts.) As for the 700r4 it is probably going to be scraped because I may wan't a shot of nitrous eventually and plan on getting around 600hp out of it N/A so I will probably buy a th400.

I wish I could run 335 size tire but I am limited to a 275 or maybe even a 315. More than likely I will end up runing sliks to hook up.

what have you done suspension wise to handle the power? I saw you said a cage and SFC's, but what about a torque arm and panhard bar and LCA's and all that stuff? Did you change to different springs up front to account for the weight difference? Do i dare ask how much this swap has cost you so far?

what about the rearend itself? I'd give the good ol'e stock 10 bolt about 4 seconds before it self destructed under that monster.....

It's looking great so far, and should make one hell of a sleeper.... but it sounds as though this project is just getting started.

Maybe you should look at the post's name(Project car almost ready to RUN) not drive around at full throttle. In other words I'm almost ready to crank it for the first time. You are right about the entire project not being anywere near being done, but the most expensive part is done. As for the rear and trans they will be replaced shortly if money permits(Crap always pops up when you think you have just enough money.) The roll cage and subframs are future tense as well. I am probably looking at anothe 5 grand or so before I consider it done. Eventually I will be runing a th400 with a ford9" subframes roll cage and yes I am going to upgrade the panhard bar, LCA,Touque arm, poly bushings,shocks/springs. Right now I am still waiting for my radiator fans and trans cooler to arrive.

whoa man relax, i'm not trying to put you down or anything, that thing is gonna be insane when it's done. I was just wondering what your plans were for the rest of the car. You'd be suprised how many people i know that build insane powerplants and never even give a thought to the rest of the drivetrain and suspension. I never said you one of them, i was just curious.

I'm sorry i misinterpreted your meaning of the word "run" that obviously makes a big difference. I thought you meant you were almost ready to go driv around in it or something....

Eric <---STILL in awe...
