Anybody buy an engine from Manny. Has great prices on engines but I would like some good references before sending $1000+.

Manny replied to my email and said that he only takes postal money orders to protect both sides, and that he will ship anywhere. that is about the jist of what he wrote.

DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO MANNY!!

I bought a bare 350 block to build up from him. I sent him the money, $450 in total, on 5/21/2002. I was in contact with him for awhile but now be is just avoiding me, he hung up the phone on me yesterday. He is a scammer! I filed a fraud complaint but I am waiting to see what they can do. Currently, I have a bunch of internal engine parts but no block to put them in.

DO NOT deal with Manny !!!

Sorry to see someone else got taken for a ride.

DO NOT send him any money or make any deals with him!

I did not want to publicly post this, but I made a deal with Manny well over a month ago, and have gotten nothing but excuses from him. Promises, excuses, delays, promises....you know the routine.

He DID NOT come through on our deal, and finally claimed that the shipping company "LOST" some of my engines, and that he was sueing the shipping company because of it. He refused to put in another order for me because he said he was low on $$$, and when I offered to have them shipped COD, he has not responded to me since. I have not heard from him at all in the last two weeks, and he WILL NOT return my emails, and won't answer me when I send him an IM when he gets on line.

If he ever comes through on our deal (I was supposed to be trading some engines for my car) I will post here and let you know.

Please keep this thread bumped up to the top, or better yet, I will make a new thread titled....DO NOT deal with MANNY !!!!

does this guy live near me? (Virginia) I'd like to set up a crane in front of his home and use a crate engine as a wrecking ball while he's inside watching TV,eating cheeto's and scratching his nutz! it's guys like this who ruin it for me!!!!

take it from me,an honest seller with a succesful track record,I won't take personal checks unless I can cash it first and I discourage cash through the mail (for obvious reasons). I prefer paypal because it saves me a trip to the bank,it also protects the buyer and the seller. if this guy has a brain in his head,he will come clean and stop ripping people off.

one more thing,I will cash a personal check or money order into my checking account only, that way it's 100% tracable, even though I wouldn't even think of screwing someone,it makes me feel legitimate as a seller to use my personal account.

I was curious as to what happened w/this guy?
I've sold alot of parts here and except for one guy-I've never had any problems. I always like to deal w/US postal money orders myself--as was stated--they protect the buyer and seller from fraud. Once an act of fraud is commited(not sending your parts)then the govt gets involved--since it's a US postal money order.
Then if he's a scumbag the $hit will hit the fan!!

The fact that I send Manny a postal money order didn't help me much. They have not or do not want to be involved. I contacted the Jersey City PD and they went to his house and that scared him into giving half my money back. I'm still out $225.
