OMG... How sad (link inside)

Anyone else care to share their views on the Appearance this guy put into his Camaro?

OMG!

I am the first one to back up individuality with however someone wants to customize their Camaro, but this is truly going a step beyond

"You know you're ghetto" as the song says...

Having been raised in the "ghetto"(which really is not such a bad place) I thought I had seen it all. Do I like it for me? HELL NO! But for what this guy is trying to achieve I guess it is okay. At least it is neat and clean. Too bad it is a '91 or '92. I could do wonders with that car. Oh well. He didn't tell me how to do my car and I sure as hell ani't going to tell him what to do with his. Peace

You couldnt pay me to do that to my car. Probably because I would take the money and get some heads and a cam.

I kind of like the hydraulics, although I hope he doesnt mess up his gfx......just get rid of the chrome around the door and on the fenders. There's only so much you should put on the exterior sometimes.

The interior......I'd like it better if the seatbelt had it's holder thing that goes on the side of the seat.

Can you say twisted chassis? There's a reason most people use older cars with full frames for those sorts of mods.

I bet there are already cracks starting behind the windows and creeping towards the center... Or worse yet... in the floor pans!

i was actually thinking about doing hydrolics...but i did a little and i do be little research about it and because its a "unibody" the frame couldnt handle the twisting and turning(almost like having too much hp and not upgrading)...

a little of the topic here..if there is anyone out there that knows if there is a "smaller" kit for air ride suspention for our cars, (like air bags or something) could you let me know via pm or email?

iroc2nv

ps i like what the guy has done because you all know im about customization, but i dont think id go as far as those spokey dokey rims..imho they are ugly and belong on big luxury cars(lincolns sp,caddys etc)

Just to give you guys some history info about this. Hydraulics where first used by a car racer. Yes the man that invented it raced his car. If you look at an indy car they sit very close to the ground. That helps cornering and speed. This guy needed his car to be a daily driver so he came up with a way to get around town in his car. Speed bumps pot holes, things like that.
And the main way that guy will twist his frame is if he trys to three wheel. Or maybe hop it.
And yes there is another way than hydros, and that is air bags. The problem is that it takes a lot of weigh to do and they are not fast at all. You might have to do some serious mods to fit the air tank and the compressure.
Not something I would do, but I do tip my hat to the time it take to do something like that.

Wow that's pretty ghetto looking. Not something I would ever consider doing to my car but hey it's his car let him do as he pleases. I just wouldn't agree with it.

"91TealRSt-topguy" I happen to know what you mean by P.O.N.T.I.A.C. and being a Black(AfricanAmerican) man I take offense to it. I understand the point you are trying to make, but it is racially offensive to me and anyone else that would know what it means. Please find another way to express yourself - especially since you are a moderator.

Make that car a different color, loose the wire rims, loose the chrome stuff, change the interior color, loose the V6.....what i'm trying to say here is that the hydraulics are the only cool thing about that car....

Air bags can be put in a camaro, you can't hop the car.......plus you have to put up with a CONSTANT humming noise from the air conpressor you have in the car, when you use them......and they are slow when raising the car.....It can be done on a camaro, You mount the compressor in the well in the back.......

I have a friend who has them in an Ford F150 and he paid $1,400 for them installed......cheaper and less maintenance then hydraulics....

Let me start off by saying that car looks hideous, but hey its his he can do what he wants. Secondly, hydraulics are very bad idea on thirdgens like everyone else has said. Airbag systems however are not a bad idea as long as all you are planning on doing is cruising and showing in the car. Also, not all airbag kits are slow. The more expensive "fastbag" kits will drop a fullsize truck as soon as you hit the switch. Yes there is a company called EasyStreet that offers a kit specifically for thirdgens. This kit is $3000 - $4000 depending on what you want.

Wow cool didnt know EasyStreet made a kit for 3rd gens ... I love the idea but I'll leave the air suspension to the cruzers like you said ... dont trust that stuff taking turns hard or anything like that.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. The fact that anyone could even think that that was a good idea or give it points for originality or whatever a few of you guys have been doing blows my mind. "Lose the chrome and the rims and it might be decent".........wtf are you thinking?

That interior looks like they made it outta a 70's-style-wannabe-pimp-coat. If I saw that car, I'd s h i t in his seat and wipe with his headrest.

My .02

I have seen my fair share of lowrider Camaros and Firebirds. I don't like the style at all. That Camaro is better looking than most lowriders I have seen. Believe me, there are a lot worse examples out there. If I had pictures, I would definately post them. That Camaro could be a lot worse.
