ok this is like circa 1965 Thunderbolt styling........but I figured what the ****, might as well. I removed the high beams on the camaro, got a used L69 dual snorkel air cleaner (don't ask me how I got it
) and bought some 4inch AC flexible ducting and some AC vent screens. Removed all the crap behind the high beams so there was a nice 3-4inch hole exposed, and had to move the battery over a few inches, then I bent the ac lines down as far as I could and routed the ducting from the snorkels to the holes. Then I just installed the vent screens in place of the high beams to simulate the shape of the high beams. Looks ****ing AWESOME. U guys gotta see it. I'll post pics tommorow. Car feels stronger on the top end as well.

yea i did the same thing myself. i used expandable metal from work to keep the bugs out. i've got a cowl induction hood on now tho. when time permits i'm going to do some temperature tests to see which works the best. i came across abattery powered thermocouple setup and i'm going to copy the carcraft test they did with a rustang a while back.

Try disconnecting your center lights, then flick on your high beams........the outer ones get super bright. I swear I did not notice ANY difference in night time driving light with the high beams, the center lights musta been adjusted wrong anyways. Stupid digital camera needs battery's, so I'll buy some and post the pics tommorow of the track stuff. And I'll also run the car with an open element and then with the ram air to see what kinda #'s it makes. I'm sure it'll run faster with the ram air though, it just feels stronger on the top end. Car craft did this test on a 60ish falcon of one the members, and the ram air over the open element was worth 3 tenths and 2 mph. Well worth the $10 I put into it

Thanx Marc. I'm a total retard when it comes to web stuff
Well good news is car ran a solid 14.0 @98mph at the track with a 2.0 ft. Bad news is I switched the edlebrock to a 750DP holley just to be 100% sure I would run the optimum times, and the dual snorkel cleaner wouldn't clear the float bowls without a little 3/8inch plastic ring spacer........which I of course forgot to bring!
However I'd still say the car feels stronger with the snorkel setup, but I guess I'll have to wait till the next track meet when I have the little ring spacer installed till we can be sure.
