Rolling fenders.........????
Rolling fenders.........????
I just bougt a 1992 Z28 ragtop. I put the 17x9.5 chrome Zr1 wheels wit 275x40 tires from my other thirdgen on it. Right now the springs on the passenger side have sagged almost 1 inch. I am going to put an Eibach prokit on it with new kyb shocks and struts. I do not want to have a problem with rubbing saying that i have a custom sub box back there making it bottom out. I am trying to find someone who knows where i can get my hands on a fender rollr or if you kow what i can use to do it. Down the line i am going to put the 18x9.5 C5 weels on it and i dont want to have a rubbing problem. I would say 18's all the way.
thanks

The old method of rolling a fenderlip involved a Louisville Slugger and a two friends. One friend to weigh down the corner of the car and the other to work the bat. You (the third person) are responsible for slowly driving the car back and forth in the driveway.

"...springs ... have sagged..."
There's the clue to the real answer right there.
How about a new set of rear springs? THey're about $75 and take a good solid 20 minutes to install in your driveway. A much superior solution to a problem, rather than a destructive work-around for the symptom.

To roll the quarters correctly you will have to cut the inside of the panels every 2-3 inches. Then tap them with a mallet forcing them against the inner panel. If you don’t you will find the lip will only wrinkle and not roll. Be extremely careful the paint will chip but it works
I think that is really good advice,
On my '84 Hillbilly Hell on Wheels road race car, I just took a 3 lb sledge and started whacking away, but I think it would look much better of you made cuts so it rolls easy.. You could also use a 2 by four against the lip to shield the fender from the hammer.
Redd, Thats a great looking sig pic
