cut a 1.699 60'?

I was out Friday night drag racing and scored my best ET to date 12.801 ( Kevin L. ) at ~104.6 on a 1.758 60'. I quickly hurried up to hot lap it (my car runs best when warm) back to the stagging lanes. Just as I get to the front, they stopped the lanes for domestics. I ended up being the first to go next round up. They ran imports, then finished street tire trophy, and slick tire trophy. Slick tire trophy had two 1st gens running 9s or 10s with big meaties that would make mike look as skinny as me. They both leave beautifull fat patches of rubber for me. I line up on the patches, do my burnout and stage. Rev to ~3500 going for that 1.699 60' and on the third yellow I let off the brake and gun it.

BAAAMMMMM! I did not move. Tried OD, no go. Tried 2nd and it took off alright, shifted to first and took off normal. Although my rear was clunking, I had lost 3rd and 4th gear.

Currently it is at Don's to be fixed. What I lost was my Torsen unit, it couldn't take the traction. Luckily I have a spare unit that I was going to use on my Z28, but since the rear end I got from Lae had an Auburn, I didn't need it and was about to sell it. Luckily I did not. The trans is thought to be the shift solenoids, so it doesn't look that bad. Don will let me know though ... Thanks Don for helping me, the words uttered about you are not justified. I greatly appreciated it. :hail:

BTW: that last run was:
RT = .518
60' = 3.436
1/4 = 22.564
MPH = 78.243

Still quicker than some imports. :sillylol:

Too soon to tell, but I doubt it.
