Camaro "Demon Eyes" Headlight mod

I posted this in a reply to a headlight mod thread in the Body section - but thought it was even more an appearance mod.

This is a headlight mod I have thought about for some time. I think the newer BMW "Demon Eyes" lights (aka "halo" or "Angel Eyes") could be a really cool headlight mod for the Camaros.
I also believe that the previous 3-series bmw headlights are pretty close to the size of the light pockets on the Camaro. And although they (as far as I know) didn't come with the Demon Eyes lights, there are aftermarket ones out there to be found.

For those not knowing what the heck Im talking about - this is what the lights look like:

And here is a quick (yeah I know it isn't very good) photoshop of them on my IROC:

Any thoughts?

Car: Camaro of course
I kinda like it, is that lheadlamo setup provide good light spread on the road? and does it support replacable light bulbs, along w/ HID, if so it might be worth looking at. Just my two cents.

I think it would look cool. I wouldnt mind doing that to my car, but there wouldnt be much point with my pop-up headlights :P. I think it would look best if you did like the first picture you attached and kinda have the tops of the circles 'cut off'. Kinda makes it look like eyelids, like its evil

SuperchargedRS,
I do not know if they are all HIDs, but they are for sure available as HIDs.

Ward,
I agree that the "eyelid" look is better. Here is another crappy attempt on fixing that:

Better?

Thats a photoshop! They are off of a BMW and would require some modifications to a stock camaro, so about them firtting a firebird, i would have to say no. No where near the same size. I wish they made more aftermarket parts for our cars but it just does not look like its going to happen anytime soon!

I think it looks like crap. sorry. The circular pattern of it just doesn't match the curves of the car. I guess that's how I should describe it. Not too mention, having rectangular fog lights and turn signals, maybe I'm just being ****, but just doesn't look good IMO.

They should be square around the outside of the lights......

The circles kinda look out of place on the car.....

The asymmetrical nature of the lights somehow appeals to my aesthetic sense--shucks, I like'em (kinda like a woman whose individual facial features are awkward but who remains beautiful in spite of them). Umm, sorry, I think I've been up too long.

Those headlights look like the angel eyes HID lights found in the upper level BMW Moddels. By themselves, the lights look incredible and really light up the road without producing a lot of glare to oncomming traffic. I was thinking about having 300ZX style lights with those, but they are like $900.

They look mean in the Camaro, looks kind of strange because I never saw rounded lights in a thirdgen Camaro before. With such an excellent lighting system, who cares how they look, at least you will be able to the road like it was daytime at nighttime. If you do the mod, don't forget the ballestors.

I like them. I think it can be done tastefully. Here is the same kinda setup. This is the more projector style. I think it looks good and have considered for mine.

I most definitely see how this would be a love/hate type of mod, but I think it would be a cool mod to see done. And I kinda like the devilish look of it, even though the round lights break with the otherwise square design.

Don't be so quick you were saying!!! Seriously though, i typed that for two reasons: 1: i replied to his other post also 2: he said it! Thanks for those sites though. When i am done wasting money on trying to go fast i'll try to waste money on new head lights since there is absolutely nothing wrong with my stock lights! lol

No problem
I know not all 3 series had them, in fact - Im not sure if ANY of the previous 3 series had them, but they are available aftermarket.
The reason Im thinking of the previous 3 series style as a possible donor car, is that the shape of the headlight assembly is pretty close to the headlight pockets of the Camaro.
A lot of the newer 5/7 series have these lights, but the shape of the headlight assembly would cause some major extra customizing problems compared to the previous 3 series..

If I had a Camaro, I would seriously consider it, a bit impossible to fit on a bird in the slim headlight pocket. Even the aftermarket lights are expensive, maybe someone has lights on Ebay on something.

when i first saw the photochop of the demon eyes lights... it kinda threw me off. they didn't really seem to fit. i mean, the only round thing on a 3rd gen camaro should be wheels, right. but then i couldn't say that i didn't like them either. so i've been sitting here staring at the photochop pic and they're really growing on me... i think i kinda like 'em!

i was looking at another thread earlier today about projector headlights from c/k series trucks that would fit our cars, which is why this thread caught my eye, and now i'm kinda thinkin' that if we could find a way to make bmw lights work... i might go that way. or i could try like that website was suggesting and make my own red demon eyes for the c/k series lights, but either way... i think its worth trying! just my thoughts!

I would have tried to have a fixed healight design, but the light area is so slopped that only a few lights would work. The lights would have to be very thin. I want to get a Camaro just so I can so that conversion, among other things.

Hey, StockRoc,

Even the Tin Man's eyes were after market (and that Dorthy chick was a bit odd too, not to mention that freakin Wicked Witch of the East--after market implants, I think).

Do you think it would be cool if they were rectangles and went around our stock lights? I might try and fabricate rectangular ones.

I thought there was a post before about angel eyes for birds, somone showed a replacment light that had the angel eye feature already built into it, it was a square around the light though not a circle.

i know the angel eye mod can be done to 89-94 maximas with little modification so i dont think it would be too hard for our cars either. im definatly interested in that mod though

I think if done right it could look sweet, but the circles just don't match the lines of our cars, maybe on a 4th gen it'd look better, then on our cars.

This is an example of it done right, Lexus IS300
