My Custom Y-Pipe (Pictures)
Just had my Custom Y-Pipe made today. What yall think, I know its not Mandrel bent but I have plenty of clearance and I think it will flow pretty good for a street rod. Give me some feedback.
thanks: David

Looks pretty nice. The bends are fairly smooth for not being mandrel so you aren't losing much there.... Should make real good power. About as good as you can do for clearance.

Look's good! I like how it does not folow the stock form "egnine oil heater" thats probably close to the way I'm going to route my new exhaust.

Yes, those are Hooker Headers part# HOK-2460-1 in the Summit Catalog , I bought them from Jet Hot on a Ebay Auction. What I did was bought 4 each 3 1/2in to 2 1/2in Collector and mounted 2 at the headers where you can see the weld, then the others 2 hook onto the end of the Y-Pipe Collector (PART# FLO-Y250300A), also from Summit. Welded one Collector to the back of the Y-Pipe and the other to the back of the Hooker Catback. The reason I put collectors on this end because if I decided to take them apart it want be a big problem. Plus I'm thinking about sending them to Jet Hot to get coated. they charge 12 a foot. Had to cut that ugly flange off the intermediate pipe and weld the last collector to that pipe.
I push the car onto my trailer at the muffler shop and off at home without any problems of clearing the ramps or scraping the ground. Plus best of all it keeps the Y-pipe away from the Oil pan that serve as a heater. Please chime me if you need anything or I can be assistance or better angle shot of the exhaust.
Thanks:
David

Again,
Looks like a nice set up, I bet it saved you a bit of cash having that flowmaster Y-pipe collector on hand, rather than the shop trying to make one. I will be doing something similar with a set of 2460s, except I have to keep my convertor as well. I plan to bring the flowmaster Y and hope it will save me a little bit on fabrication work.
Thanks,
Tony

Maybe it's just the angle at which the picture was taken at, but it looks like that the right side (passenger side) in relation to the frame rail is very low.
Don't get me wrong, David, I'm not knocking the setup in any way what-so-ever. You should give yourself a pat on the back for thinking ahead and using the collectors at all three points! It'll make it so much easier if you have to drop the trans.
