what's your biggest 3rd gen. pet peeve??

what is yalls biggest pet peeve concerning 3rd gen. camaro's? mine, without a doubt is the front bumper scraping the ground. while the length of the engine bay past the wheels gives it a kick a$$ look, it's almost impossible to never scrape the front of your car when you're comin out of a parking lot and back onto the road. when i got my car repainted, i was careful enough to not have it scratch for 4 months, but then one day i nailed it, took all the paint off the front tip! it killed me!

Hmm I'd have to say the exhaust hanging down so damn low. It becomes a project whenever I have to put it on a lift.

Just be careful and you can avoid scraping the front end. I've had my car over a year and the front ground effect is still perfect.

No kidding. When I started that thread, I was only looking to get a few responses to see if other people wished they had a glovebox under the dash.

I don't have a Camaro, but I really don't have a pet peeve that is a major concern. No car is perfect.

Why are all those guys saying that the 3rd gens are heavy. They only weigh like 3,300lbs right? Damn 4th gens weigh 3,700 and up. 3,300 is not heavy at all for a V8 RWD car of this size.

You must also think of power to weight ratio...

here are the weights of 4th gens vs 3rd gens:

4th Gen - 2002 TA

Auto Coupe 3517 Ibs
Auto Vert 3627 Ibs
Manual Coupe 3495 Ibs
Manual Vert 3605 Ibs

3rd Gen - 1992 Z/28

Coupe 3273 Ibs
Vert 3377 Ibs

when it snows, and starts melting during the day, the water gets into my door hinges and freezes at night, makint pretty hard to open the doors, and because no sun gets there, if it's cold weather it takes forever for the ice to clear out

Long front and that damn air dam. I have hit the binders hard a couple times on the highways near home (I-70 in Missouri, if you have driven it you will understand what a rut is.) and had the damn thing scrape on the road. heck even a dip in the highway a few times has coused a scrape. Why they couldn't have figured out another way to get air to the radiator i don't know.

People referring to my 91 Firebird Formula as a Camaro. Or a T/A. Not that I don't like Camaros and T/A's, but you asked for pet peeves. It isn't one of those cars, dangit! It's a Formula!

Now, I would pick up my little bro in first grade before winter, and he would get the biggest grin on his face if I picked him up in the 'bird, and he'd say amongst giggling "wow, it's like a Corvette!" every time. Now that I can handle. hehe

hey there was apost that told us how to solve that man! triple expanding foam does the trick.... you cut a small slice in the doors weather stripping and put in a little bit of triple expanding foam and let it sit for a few hours....

i dont have a problem with it needing to warm up i have a trans Heater Cup Holders arent a problem either, thats why *** gave us crotches. no problem with chicks ive been dating mine for over 2 yrs and she was with me before my other girlfriend (camaro) so i dont have to worry about her using me....my biggest pet peeve is how its near impossible to get new cool aftermarket stuff for our cars cause its so old, and gas milage....

One more:

Interior trim pieces!!

They crack easily, the bolt mounts strip out, they discolor, and the new replacement stuff isn't cheap!!!!

I figured out how to keep the front ground fx from scraping on my car... just come at an angle for all driveways going on or off and be careful around speed bumps. Never drive head on onto anything.

The front deflector takes less scrapes too.

My headliner is still on and pretty mint looking.. the seats **** me off.. tears etc... dashboard cracking... loose windows... sagging doors... takes me a good 20 mins to warm up my car (my own fault though for not having hoodliner and a rear hood seal)...

Crappy stock tinting gone to hell...

Easy rust zones...

Bad gas shocks on a extremely heavy glass hatch... damn thing is responsible for my back being in bad shape... it came down on me hard with the latch part hitting me directly on my spine on my lower back...

I had to make my own rear hatch release switch, where most have their switches I swpied the coin holder off an aerostar and put it in that spot... behind it will be a touch mouse pad soon

I also am annoyed by the fact that I have to hit the hood in the right spot to get it to open and the biggest peeve I have is this...

That some stupid Kentuckians (no offense) had the car before me and the cut a whole in the cargo floor to get to the gas tank, they ghetto-wired everything, changed the battery to top-mount, and I have tubes that I am sure are essential that don't go anywhere... they just hang there uselessly! Third car that has been ripped to shreads by the back-water hicks... (no offense yet again to anyone that lives in Kentucky) >.>;;

Pet peeves about MY 3rd gen--

The massive amount of interior noise when going over bumps--it's the worst car I've ever driven or been in. I estimate it's structural integrity at 1-hz--and I expect the car to literally start falling apart one day while I am driving. I have a tolerate/hate relationship with my car--depending on the condition of the road I am drving over.

Pet peeves about all 3rd gens:

1. Long heavy doors
2. Rear speakers are mounted in a stupid direction
3. I wouldn't have minded if the car was 10% samller in dimsnsions
4. Qaulity is hardly bearable
5. Very unrefined

I have a minivan for the lack of space in the backseat problem...

A few more pet peeves:

My car has been on jack-stands for the past 4 months
Winter - It is too cold to work on my car
Something is broken which makes my car die after start-up... haven't singled out the solution yet
I have no interior... I am 'customizing' it right now...
Nothing ever fits how it should.

Or maybe all that is my fault, but it still annoys me.
