Dynomax Ultraflo Muffler pics

Well, I just got done installing my 3" Dynomax Ultra Flo welded muffler, p/n 17227. Thought I'd post some pics of how its designed incase anyone is considering purchasing one. Its a 3" in, dual opposite 2.5" out. Looks just like the stock crossflow muffler. About the same volume as my old Super Turbo at idle, but a deep rumble when rev'd.

OK. I'm confused.

If it's a . . 1- IN . . . . . . . 2- OUT . . muffler, then how can it have a 'straight through' design?

Please elaborate

Well from the inlet to the drivers side outlet, it's a straight shot, as shown in the pic. The pass side outlet goes into the main flow. Think of the inlet and pass outlet as the top of a Y, with the drivers side outlet as the bottom leg. Guess I should have originally worded it better Very little flow seems to move out the pass side, most exits the drivers. Unlike the Super Turbo, which the flow goes through baffles, the Ultra Flo has unobstructed flow out.

That's what I came up with, but it just seems odd to even have a passenger side outlet then, doesn't it?

Not trying to offend you, just Dynomax. I like Dynomax very much (best bang for the buck), but hey, whatever they gotta do.

I will probably get one of those after my motor swap, as well as the entire 3 inch 'I' pipe, etc. I like "427 loss free HP" idea A LOT!!

You wouldn't be able to get a sound clip would ya? I'd love to hear that thing.

I'll see about that sound clip. I also put 1 5/8" SLP headers on and a Catco cat, still have the stock cam tho Even though not much flows thru the pass outlet, I still like the stock look of it.

I have one.

I have the Stainless model, not boxed/welded. Looks like a mirror and performs great.

I highly recommend them over pretty much anything except spintech and Borla.
I have had a Dynomax Super turbo and flowmaster american thunder....
Flowmaster=sound
Ultra Flo=FLOW= Horsepower
