i'd guess something like 1.2-1.3 cubes....but as of now i don't know the volume of the box. i'll be running them off of a JBL1200.
i'll be using the Alpines until i work up enough money for 2 10" JL W6v2s

i prefer 10s. They're going in a 2000 Mitsu Eclipse.

as for the amp rack, it's not carpeted yet like the box, but i'll bolt everything down and snap a pic i guess.

nothing's carpeted yet, i'm ordering that today, and nothing is installed, either. these are just before pictures, nothing's mounted and there are no wires ran yet.
looks good already though

undating on my system install...although they're not functional yet due to lack of wiring right now, i decided to test my components/kickpanels in and i'm very pleased with the fit, they're from Rez and i took some pics.

the components are Focal polykevlar 165K

Looks good. I love those boxes that fit down in the trunk well so you can't see 'em. gotta ask though, what's with having two different amps? What's the JL powering?

ah, welcome to the world of "real" sound systems The JBL is powering my Alpine TypeR Subs, the JL 300/2 is powering my components... 300W front stage, 1200W+ Lows.

And how did you attach the top to the box? Its not thick enough to put screws in, is it?

you're the second person to ask and since their mail was full, i'll just say it here, i put the bottom of the box in the well and measured where it would go on the top baffle and sketched it out, i flipped the baffle upside down and setup the fiberglass base and just glassed it right to the MDF - 2 layers of mat and 1 of cloth. it's pretty strudy and can withstand a lot of abuse.

SLAYER - you have 165K2, i have the 165Ks. I don't think there is much difference, just that they can handle more power and abuse. If you're that happy with them i'm sure i'll be similarly satisfied. Thanks for the posts, all!

Oh, also, Slayer - Where did you put your crossovers??? Thanks!

Not for driving they do not get in the way, but as for using the dead pedal, or having any foot room for that matter, forget it. Your stuck leaving your foot like in front of the clutch when your not on it.. Kinda sucks

Yeah I don't even remember what the differences were but it's probably just power difference, prob sound about the same..

I think on the drivers side, theres a piece of carpet, I pulled it back and stuck it behind the carpet.. As for the passenger side, It's underneath the panel in the corner below the computer there was a little niche.. It's kinda loose but with the panel up it doesn't move.. Everything has been fine with the speakers since I got them and I crank it pretty often so..

Geez, a 300 watt front stage, ya think that's enough?

Actually, if you check my sig, that PPI is a 4x100 watt amp. My plan is to power the 6x9's off the two front channels and bridge the two rear channels to power my subs. Now, a friend and I are trying to come up with some sort of scam to sue McDonald's for like hot coffee or something so I can afford two JL 1000/1's for the subs. Then, run the two front channels of the PPI for kicks and 4x6's off the deck so I can turn off the amp for when I don't feel like going deaf.

Oh, and happy 200th post to me. ('bout time)

Heh wow, I'm going to have almost that same exact setup in the bass section. Fiberglass box and all. Only I want to flush mount mine in the well instead of having it recessed like that.
