Brake dust shields. Not only do they help keep it cleaner but they look pretty good too.

hey thanx for the replies guys.

Kat - that's weatherstripping i used.

1986CamaroSC - you can get 'em at parts stores but i've only seen them there in 14 or 15 inch. i have 16" wheels so i had to order 'em thru a local speed shop. total cost was about 60 for 2 pairs. I used a can of rustoleum gloss paint. automotive paint looked real dull.

Yeah the springs lowered it just the right amount for me. i'm happy with the new look. and yes the tips do look badass

torch - they should fit. your local speed shop should be able to order 'em for ya. or you could get 'em from summit or jegs. they are easy to install. the only problem i had was the rear set rubbing against the caliper a little bit. i had to do some minor bending to fix the problem. but well worth the 60 bucks. here's another shot:

all they are is just a thin piece of circular metal that goes right behind the rim with no modifications. just remove the wheel, place the cover on the hub, install the wheel and that's it. you can also color them like i did to match your car. i used gloss enamel paint. left it nice and shiny.

just a warning about the brake dust shields...they will make your brakes run hotter, since it restricts them from dissipating heat as well. Whether it will cause any sort of problem, who knows?

what type of shprings did you use to get that stance. It really looks like a good stance. i would like to do that but i worried about puting springs and having it too low but yours looks good. did you just get a front end allignment of did to get the front end kit from bear, and what did you do about the rear control arm mounts. thanks

i used the Eibach prokit. it's supposed to lower it an inch all the way around which is why i went with it. more than that wouldn't have been good. the front did lower about an inch but the rear went down a little more than half inch which is still good for me. i took measurements beforehand to make sure my stock springs weren't sagging.

I haven't done any other suspension work yet or an alignment. i need to save some more money still. however lookin at the car from the rear it doesn't look like the rear end shifted much.

Thats one sweet looking formula, I love that stance as well. I don't like the brake covers though I would be worried about over heating the brakes ( because I like to run cars to the limit lol)

how much did it come in total? i've been wanting to lower my car, as well as reduce bodyroll (duh..look in sig!!). but, i dont wanna make it extremely low, since i already bottom out on almost everything, and i dont want to burn a hole in my already shallow senior-in-high-school pocket. thanks

thanx man. trust me i want those firehawk rims so bad. a grand is a reasonable price to pay for those rims but i would also need new tires which would put the total at about $2000!

Would the brake dust sheilds prevent the brakes from cooling down?

i dunno. it MAY happen since the shields are a restriction for airflow, but i think it's only a concern when you do some really really hard braking constantly. but that's when you need to ditch the stock setup and upgrade to better, more heat resistant pads and rotors anyways. i haven't experienced any problems even with the cheap set of pads i have on.

There is a company that makes some that are vented so they draw air toward the rotors. It blows the dust away from the wheel and actually helps cool the rotors and pads.

www.kleenwheels.com

I had a set on my (used to have) '94 Z28. I left them black but I'm sure you can paint them if ya want to.

The only bad part is they don't make them for the rear wheels for IROCs and the newer '91-92 wheels because of the offset.

I suppose if you have rear drums you can use the ones llvll4l2c91350 has for the rears.
