Introducing well box plans and kits for sale (low price)

Hello again,

I've had a lot of people ask me about measurements and plans for well boxes. I decided to offer a complete plan set for a small price. Here's the deal:

Basic plan set: $8

Cut sheet showing and labelling each piece, including detailed dimensions to a 1/32" tolerance.

Instructions and tips for working with MDF

Full-size template for cutting the top plate to fit nicely along the interior trim

Template for cutting 12" or 10" sub mounting holes.

Box building "kit": $25 (add $12 for deluxe carpet)
This includes everything you need to make the box besides tools and a sheet of MDF. It includes:

Basic plan set as described above

Contersink and screw driving bit

(2) speaker terminals (spring type)

Liquid Nails Heavy Duty adhesive/sealant

80 wood screws of the right depth and diameter

-an optional add-on to this kit is Autofab Deluxe carpet in any available color (enough to cover top plate)

The planset is sent via US mail in paper form only (no PDF's or similar) to prevent copyright infringement. The plan set is also a professional looking set done in CAD, not just a hand sketched piece of paper. Plans and kits go on sale starting tonight. Allow 4 days for shipping. See my site or E-mail for ordering info.

Thanks again to the 3rd gen community for all of your support!

P.S. the box plans are for the flush-to tank box (pic on site) and can hold up to (2) 12" subs. Weight is 51 lbs. Airspace is about 2 cu.ft., I'll get more specific after I do some math.

BTW, REZN8R, I'll be looking at getting a stealth box as soon as I can dump off the 2 12's in my sig.

The actual volume of the box is 2.075 (I just calculated it).

Sweet, I'm getting ready to start on my box, I may be interested. I'm getting ready to build a fiberglass bottom-ed box though, would these plans still be useful do you think?

It would definitely be useful in cutting out the top plate. Beyond that, probably not. That is if you're doing the whole bottom in fiberglass. BTW, if you're interested in a fiberglass box that's already started I may be able to help. I'm scrapping the fiberglass well-box project I was working on. I'm going to be selling the current fiberglass shell I have. I'll take the first $75 shipped.

1.) Why are you scrapping it?

2.) Is it a "tank-flush" box?

3.) How complete is it? Would it need more 'glassing? Or do I just need to glass on the top plate and such?

1) I was going to make a mold and sell them, but they would cost too much to make (would sell for about $400) and there isn't enough demand.

2) Yes it's a tank-flush box.

3) It has 1 layer of 1-1/2oz mat. It's basically just a shell. You would have to add at least 2 more layers of mat to the inside to have a good stiff box.

If I smile and ask really nicely could you throw in a set of plans if I bought the shell?

Re: Introducing well box plans and kits for sale (low price)

Do you have any pics of a box built by your design? I am curious to see how high it sits in the well. The website seems to be offline so I can't get the pic from there.

Re: Introducing well box plans and kits for sale (low price)

Hey, at least the guy did a rather than asking another question .

:edit: If these are the plans I think they are (unless I'm thinking of another), the box is positively HUGE and didn't fit as advertised when I made it. Seems to me the box itself came to the level of the tail trim panel and that was without the sub installed, which wouldn't allow the hatch to close.
